1SS and 2SS represent different trim levels of the V8 cars. 2SS has more 'content'. I believe that LT identifies a sixxer trim.

Correct. 1SS and 2SS are V8 trims. The 2SS having more options. The LS and LT are V6 trims. The LT having more options.

Welcome.

RS is an appearance package added to other trim levels. 1SS is the base/standard V8 trim. 2SS has leather seats, HUD, better headlights, upgraded stereo etc. As you will soon learn their are a myriad of options that can be added to almost any trim level, such as NPP exhaust(that is the RPO code designation for the dual mode exhaust), different lighting options, some different interior colors, wheels and the like. The you get into the special packages like the road course oriented 1LE and Z28, then the top level ZL1, which is the supercharged model, and that can also be had with the 1LE as an option. Welcome and enjoy learning these rides and good luck with yours.

+1 for the Z28

I would put the 1le above the ZL1 on the performance list.

Also, only the 6th Gen can you add the 1le option to the ZL1.

From a MSRP perspective, the Z28 cost the most, then ZL1, 2SS 1LE, 1SS 1LE, 2SS, 1SS this is for the Gen 5 v8's, I know nothing about the sixes. Depending on the type of race as to which model is the top performer.

Here’s an old but still good summary:

https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7479

Plus added later:

ZL1 - supercharged V8 version with performance upgrades over SS
Z28 - larger V8 engine and track capability options
1LE - track / performance option package

In what aspect, road course? I would put the ZL1 above a 1LE for drag racing.

What performance list is that?

580hp compared to only 426hp means the ZL1 would be faster in everything except maybe maximum handling capability on a lateral skidpad. Still, 150+hp should make up for that in any "real" race at a track.

Even the Z28 with 505hp is 75hp less than the 5th gen ZL1.

Yessir.

I would love a ZL1, but the Z28 would be my first choice. I believe they will both be highly sought after cars in a few decades.

That Z28 tho. Its LS7 is likely going in my ride after this LS3 becomes too costly to salvage... hopefully in a few more hundred thousand miles...

My GF's boss owns a restaurant near us. She's a cool lady, probably around 60 years old. She has a black 2014 Z28 and uses it as a daily driver.

What I find crazy is that this woman really has no idea what she has. They bought it because it was the top model that year.

It was the second time I was wow'ed by the 5th gen's design... especially after owning 2 4th gen Z28's prior to this SS... made me smile to see it come back something fierce...

I saw an older lady too getting out of a murdered out one a few years back at a supermarket lol. Probably same as you say.

I'm also going to agree that stock for stock the 1LE does not outperform the ZL1 nor the Z28 obviously. It outperforms the regular SS and lesser trims... but it continues to be the entry-level trim towards the track inspired Camaro's.
