Don't.....why have a fake ZL1 rather than a real SS? Many aftermarket hoods and spoilers to choose from that would be much cheaper and make your car unique.

I’ve done most of those — minus the hood and side skirts. Did it for road racing/cooling. Best setup out there if you want things to fit.

I bought the complete kit from Gary’s Customs (was a sponsor here) painted — kept the 2SS hood since I had hex vents — had Gary’s do the hood correction (ZL1 hood is wider down the center). Gen5Diy has the harness to allow the DRLs to work.

Gary’s knows how to make these fit right...

It's not a fake ZL1 unless he puts ZL1 badges on it, which I doubt he is.

Honestly, with the money that you may spend it may make better sense to shop for a bargain on a ZL1. ZL1s aren't exactly cheap, but for the money you will get the performance, appearance and handling and it will be legitimate.

To answer the question, you could get a good job done with the conversion if you use OEM parts: That is where the price factor comes in.

Good luck.

Honestly i Havent been on here in a good lil while seeing now alots changed. just now getting back into the swing of things and your right ZL1’s are not Cheap but as you may also know from experience we all contribute/sink/invest a small fortune into out rides because its something that were passioniate about and me speaking from experience went way past that ZL1 💵 tag looooong time ago with all the different builds setups ect now just looking into more options on changing appearance up a bit and maybe do front face lift.

i do plan on using all oem parts its always a better lane to stay on.

I’ll put it this way:

Some folks want the destination (ZL1 right off the bat some mods or not modded at all)

Some folks want the journey (take what I bought, make it my own — spend some crazy $ ;o)

I’m into the journey (just read my build thread). I have enjoyed every second and didn’t care if I started with a ZL1/Z28/1LE/SS. When I was 14, had a Gen1 — that too was not stock either. Grew up modding, it’s just in my blood...

If places like SLP, Nicky, Yanko, Hennessy, etc. can make their own badged/version, so can I ;o)...

It’s the fun of it for me...

Let's not forget that your passion for modding your car has actually helped out a lot of us tremendously over the years. You have some of the best walkthroughs around.
