Don't.....why have a fake ZL1 rather than a real SS? Many aftermarket hoods and spoilers to choose from that would be much cheaper and make your car unique.

I’ve done most of those — minus the hood and side skirts. Did it for road racing/cooling. Best setup out there if you want things to fit.
I bought the complete kit from Gary’s Customs (was a sponsor here) painted — kept the 2SS hood since I had hex vents — had Gary’s do the hood correction (ZL1 hood is wider down the center). Gen5Diy has the harness to allow the DRLs to work. Gary’s knows how to make these fit right... https://m.facebook.com/garyscustom/?...341677%2F&_rdr My install: Front: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showp...&postcount=252 Rear: https://www.camaro5.com/forums/showt...385577&page=30 -Don

It's not a fake ZL1 unless he puts ZL1 badges on it, which I doubt he is.

Honestly, with the money that you may spend it may make better sense to shop for a bargain on a ZL1. ZL1s aren't exactly cheap, but for the money you will get the performance, appearance and handling and it will be legitimate.
To answer the question, you could get a good job done with the conversion if you use OEM parts: That is where the price factor comes in. Good luck.

I’ll put it this way:
Some folks want the destination (ZL1 right off the bat some mods or not modded at all) Some folks want the journey (take what I bought, make it my own — spend some crazy $ ;o) I’m into the journey (just read my build thread). I have enjoyed every second and didn’t care if I started with a ZL1/Z28/1LE/SS. When I was 14, had a Gen1 — that too was not stock either. Grew up modding, it’s just in my blood... If places like SLP, Nicky, Yanko, Hennessy, etc. can make their own badged/version, so can I ;o)... It’s the fun of it for me... -Don
