They have 2 40k, so what pn# is yours?

Do you have pictures of where you mounted it?

I have a Stage II PROCHARGER D1X so I’ll have to figure out where to mount it.

700rwhp + Built 6L80 / 6L90 Questions

Got my Tim King Stage II 1,000 HP built 6L90 yesterday along with the Circle D LS Series Pro Billet Triple Disc 3200-3400 stall.

Can’t tell much by the outside of the trans, but there it is.

I think it was $2,700 for the build.

6L90 core is $1,500 and you get that back if you return a good one.

Shipping to dock for pick up is cheapest.

To you door residential shipping is more.

Pay with Zelle and no CC fee.

Otherwise, add 3% CC fee.

My total was just over $4,700 all said and done for trans shipped to local dock.

Also...

Then, 6L90 is longer so custom 3.5” DSS driveshaft to make it work was almost $1k.

Converter was over $1,300 shipped.

Had to get ZL1 trans support, mount and trans fluid.

Added a BMR DS safety loop and trans cooler setup.

Total, I’ll have to add it all up, but it was a lot!

Install quote for all that and a rear main seal replacement is just shy of $1k for labor.

So I'm looking for a new built trans that can hold 800rwhp.

Who makes the most reliable 6L80 / 6L90 trans?

Should I swap to a built 6L90 with custom drive shaft or will a built 6L80 live?

Since tuning is the most critical part of making these live, I need a good trans tune. I'd rather get the trans from a builder that includes the trans tune. But if i can't get the tuning with the builder, who's the best at tuning these?

The trans tuner needs to have a proven history of 700 + rwhp heavy cars out there living as a daily driver with spirited driving (WOT Mexico runs) and dragstrip passes.

Asking too much?

The engine and trans tune play a huge roll in transmission life or death.

We build 6L80E in house and tune to handle 900 RWHP.

congrats on the 6L90 find, but you must know that the trans will only be as good as the tune.

Ted.

Each transmission build is custom for a particular application and is also dependent on what internal problems we find during tear down and inspection so we have to tear it down before we give any estimates.

Feel free to call when you are ready.

Thank you

Ted.

By looking at the flange, you received the 6L90 out of a CTS-V.
Not sure what else is different between the CTS-V and the Camaro 6L90.

I have 2 6L90 Camaro trannies here, one in the car now and the other as a spare.I was actually thinking of sending the spare to TK. I also run the Circle D Pro 258mm,but it's the 3000-3200rpm version, still flashes up to 3500rpm pretty quick. Not much for a 60 ft though, the best I could do was a 1.64 with 3.23 gears and 17" DR(with the old 6.2L engine)
