Exhaust Switch - Found a pre-drilled hole

Like a good neighbor (with a loud car) I've installed my exhaust switch today. (Off=No Fuse, On=Stealth).

I do this to all my loud cars, but this time I found a pre-existing hole in just the right spot. It's out of the way, you can't see it, but its in a easy to reach spot -- I'm very happy with it.

Under the steering column there are two holes, one has a 10mm hex bolt, the other is empty. So I filled it with my Exhaust Switch

I didn't even need to remove the column plastic. I have big hands (6'4) but I was still able to get one finger around back to tighten the lock around the switch.

Before

After

The switch

Should you shut the car off in track mode, can you use this switch to hit stealth mode without starting the car?

I did the same thing, but used a wireless controller that is activated with my Homelink buttons. No running wires into the car, and works the same way.

To those who asked, I just keep my exhaust set to Stealth at all times. Then my controller essentially pulls/reinstalls the fuse with a press of a button. It was the easiest way to make myself and the neighbors happy.

That sounds like a great idea! What kind of wireless controller did you use, and where did you get it?

Thanks!

This.

Except in my case I prefer the hard-wire because I often forget to flip the switch before shutting off the car. In this case, when I want to put the car in quiet mode in the morning I just flip my switch when the car is off.

In your case I suspect you have to start the car in accessory mode by holding the power button for 5 seconds then flip the wireless-switch then turn the car on.

Well, shit. Looks like my post from yesterday disappeared. I’ll post the quote about the GESI cats again in case you didn’t catch it.

On our BIG power builds when we need cats, we only run GESI cats and cut them in in-house; however, this is the same cat that Kooks uses but we use the larger cores for less restriction. I was skeptical before, but after testing them, I was amazed. Checkout their vids. We sell these headers as well as these cats, so if you guys need them, hit us up! It is VERY simple for 95% of you guys to NOT LOSE ANY POWER while running 93 octane and no stench, be emissions compliant, and still have phenomenal sound!

Buy Kooks headers here:

Want to swap in the Green catted section for your exiting headers?

Kooks and GESI on their cats:

GESI cats claim to be good up to 1,700 HP!!!

Again, one of the benefits of talking to us is I test everything I sell on my own cars, so I'm not just pedaling whatever I'm getting marketing blasts about from manufacturers, or new products.

I'm sold. However I have to call out one BS. Square cell size is not more restrictive than triangular cell size. Sorry -- completely BS and apples to oranges. Strictly geometrically speaking a square and triangle of the same area will have nearly the same perimeter and the same ratio of area to perimeter (if anything its improved with a square). So in order to be less restrictive the cell size must be increased (density decreased) which increases the ratio of perimeter to area (since area increases at a quadratic rate, and perimeter increases at a constant or linear rate).

Shorter version: size matters. The only other explanation might be if their cell walls are thinner and less restrictive but if thats the case why didn't he just say that.

Fishy.
