Since ECMs, every GM manual I've owned (3 of them) has had unacceptable rev hang.
So now my Gen 5 Camaro is an automatic. Between rev hang, skip shift, and rev matching, what's the point of a manual, except to smell a burning clutch at the drag strip? |

No, I recently test drove the new Civic Si twice. That made my SS feel like it had a throttle cable. There is a delay in the throttle, especially if I try to take off all of a sudden.

Yeah, I've driven some Jap/Korean manuals, and man are the rev hangs on those God awful.

I found this thread and think this is what is bothering me lately. Although, I just installed new exhaust, and I think it got a bit worse. I'm going to pull my o2 sensors and make sure they look good.
If I take my rpms up to 4k while moving, then press the clutch, the rpms will drop really slow, and even have a slight bounce up from 1.5k rpms to 2k rpms, then fall back down. Once I stop moving, it acts normal, but while rolling, my rpms always "hang." Very annoying when I want to decelerate. |

Rev hang is damn annoying. My 2016 Subaru WRX had it very bad. Especially 1st to second gear. Rev's would stay high, timed to stay up for a second or two by the computer after the clutch was pushed in, then they would drop. You would have to wait and time the release of the clutch perfectly to avoid bucking the car. You would lose valuable time on the up shift and it was hard to time perfect shifts. You supposedly were able to take it out with a tune.
I test drove a couple of Gen 6's with M/T when I was shopping for a new car and I noticed some rev hang but not nearly as bad as the WRX. I end up buying a Mustang GT, M/T and one of the reasons is it has absolutely no rev hang at all.

I don't really notice it on this car, probably since it was *so bad* on my 2017 Mustang GT.
