I doubt I’ll hear the hum... the Hendrix offset bushings and Eaton TrueTrac have fixed that....

Don. Why the tape on the rims? Protect against scratching? I am
Deathly afraid of the dealership scratching my rims when mounting and balancing.

Yes, high grade auto painters tape. Does 2 things, protects from scratches and REMINDS the installer not to scratch. I’ll know if the tape is marred to take a look before I leave...

Had it happen once when I didn’t tape them...

Last 2 times no issues, as you can see from my pics...

You bet and it’s great:

Green tape is very tough (orange version is good too). All by 3M..

I get one of each width...

OK, mounted the wheels and took the car out for a test drive (45 minutes).

All I can say is --- WOW...

these things grip fantastically and I found no additional road noise compared to the goodyears.

Man once these things warm up (and they do so quickly when you're near the 80's), GRIP...

The goodyears would take me sideways in 3rd gear @ 70 at 1/2 throttle, not these, 3rd gear, 1/2 @ 70 -- BITE -- very little slippage before it bit...

I'm going to order me a second set just for my daily driver wheels and trip to CamaroFest.

I average 2 years on the goodyears (with track days) so I'm expecting at least that since I now have 2 sets -- one for road course, one for driving...

Here are the pics:

I do DD, (3 to 4 times a week really) but I ordered a second set of tires too for DD rims. Since I work from home, there are times it sits so I just have a habit of rolling up on them.

BTW, these come heat cycled ready to go! No shaving or cycling needed according to Toyo -- how about that!

Toyo says the pressure hot should be betwee 32 and 36 PSI (38 PSI is max) so as I drive these, I adjust them right before parking it. That way, I'll see the cold temps later...

Also, they do not recommend driving on these @ 15° or below

Goodyears were @ 40° and below, I should be good here in DFW!

I'm signed up for Eagles Canyon again in April so I'll give these a good workout!

Goodyears were not to be driven below 20°
They just warn of less traction below 40°
But still OK to drive just be aware they won't grip as well.

Yep, 20°, Goodyear had a suggestion not to take it out below 40°

No doubt...they are a DOT rated R compound... I hardly ever drive the car below 40° anyhow. Better safe than sorry...

Thanks!

As usual, nothing but good things about the Toyo R888/R888R.

How do the R888R compare to the NT01R?
