Sub placement

So I inherited two truck sub boxes that I will be using for awhile, at least until I can go with another option.

The sub boxes can be directed facing back or forward but because of their height would need to be placed in the center of the trunk space where mounting them will be difficult.

Thinking about just laying them down like in the picture but they are pointing right at the rear deck speakers (not sure if that will cancel some of the deck speaker sound).

Another thought is to cut the height down and place them directly behind the rear seat... facing forward or backward.

So what would you all suggest?

Thanks

I would spin the boxes 180 degrees, so the tall ends are against each other. You prob don’t need to worry about cancellations as long as they are playing under 150 Hz or so.

Changing the orientation of the boxes does make sense, so they are not pointing or aiming in the exact same direction. Great advise thank you!

Unless you go full custom when you get a replacement look for something like this; made for the Camaro. These are easy to find. Just put your subs in it and be done. Fits nice and snug against the back seat and fires rearward. Looks nice and clean and takes up less trunk space.
