What car will you be trading in for a C7?

Bought myself a 2008 G37s Coupe 6mt in October. Paying it off by October 2014 and then hopefully buying a used C7 around 2016-2017.

I feel like i'm cheating right now because I love my G37 but I am obsessed with the C7!!!

Timeline is subject to change because I am feeling very impatient haha.

One of the rides in my avatar. Just not 100%...I have title in hand on truck...so.....probably

Edit: I'm not rich enough to keep all 3

ec1990 02-01-2013 11:58 AM

Wishful thinking? Nothing so I can be fancy and have it as a weekend car. If not, then the Volvo or maybe the Camaro if I got an awesome trade-in deal.

Tough decision. I would trade in camaro, that truck is pretty sweet haha.

FEAR 02-01-2013 12:28 PM

probably gonna trade my 2009 s 550 mercedes in, or give it to my girl and trade her car

malave7567 02-01-2013 12:48 PM

it would be my Camaro, without a doubt. Do not have the means to support two v8 sports cars

Same here... I  that I get to keep the SS, the Boss, and add the :c7: ...but IF I have to give up one of the two, it might just be the pony that's getting the :deadhorse:

Leaning towards the 45th? Kinda surprising to me honestly with how rare the Boss is, although you'd get a way better price on it over the Camaro.

Exactly. That's my present conundrum...... but I don't want to jump ahead, I still think it's feasible to have all 3 for me. :humble:

The 45th is the DD and it's awesome driving it everyday & everywhere esp. down here in South FL. As an orig owner, I do want to keep the Boss... I love its high-revving robust Roadrunner engine. This new C7 though changed my road map... I was thinking of eventually adding an older musclecar (since I do miss my '70 GTO) or a euro sports car but all those notions went by the wayside thanks to the upcoming :stingray:

Yep in your case... the truck for the high, the Vette for the low...

For me it'd probably come down to the price offered. If they offered more than I paid I'd have a hard time saying no, yeah it may be worth more in the future but for me you have to weigh all of that. Just like 60,000 on a car today may be worth 200,000 in 40 years, it's just not worth it to me. Hopefully the Corvette is open to incentive pricing pretty early on, it would certainly help.

Mjolnir 02-01-2013 02:54 PM

I would trade in my 13 Mustang, that is if I can keep myself from trading it now for a 1LE Camaro...those things are tempting.

:) Trying to stay patient though...

volsfan0911 02-02-2013 08:54 PM

Probably sell my '10 GTI although I'm tempted to keep it as a winter car since it's paid for. However, we need a truck honestly to haul stuff (Costco runs to craig's list furniture finds, etc.) so I've got a decision to make this coming summer.

Longbow 02-04-2013 07:52 AM

My '12 C6! Time to upgrade already!!!

proxemics 02-04-2013 12:19 PM

Maybe the GT500 but I hope I can keep both

I know, right?! I actually got rid of my 5th Gen Camaro to save up for a ZL1. Now, looks like I might be saving up for a new vette. :)

I have a couple I may be trading in in a couple years.... my 13 Camaro SS convertible and my 13 BRZ Limited.

Are you still loving your brz? Even missing the camaro at all?

Stingray 02-05-2013 12:54 PM

And speaking of the BRZ.... what made you decide on the BRZ vs. the FRS?

I do still love the BRZ, but having two cars sitting in my garage with summer only tires was killing me this week. My Dakota was in the shop all weekend with massive issues related to a bad caliper on the right front. Had to swollow some humble pie and borrow my father's Equinox to get to and from work since we had an inch of snow each day.

With that being said, the BRZ and the Camaro are drastically different animals. The BRZ isn't underpowered for what they wanted it to be, but a bit more would be nice. The balance and handling on it make it incredibly fun to drive. This time of the year, I have to flip a coin to decide which one I want to drive. Summer will probably be a different story when it get's nice enough to drop the top on the Camaro again.

Regarding the choice of the BRZ over the FR-S, I liked the interior on the BRZ better and also liked that there were some options available on the BRZ that you couldn't get stock on the FR-S. I stumbled across the BRZ Limited in my favorite color, used on a Chevy lot. I hadn't planned on buying one this year, but I couldn't pass up the deal. For being a mid to high $20k car, the interior is very nice on it. Ironically enough, the previous owner had traded it in on a Camaro SS because he wanted more power. :D

I agree with him that the power in the Camaro is much nicer, but the agile handling of that BRZ makes up for a lot when it comes to finding joy in a drive.

Nawambo 02-06-2013 08:56 AM

^^^ Very nice. I seriously considered a BRZ and thought about just modding my STI and getting a BRZ, but then I finally convinced the wife that I "needed" the Boss and all is good in this world.

I drove a BRZ and they are beautiful sharp handling machines... Having driven Lotus Elises and Exiges, I would consider one someday.

gthal 02-17-2013 12:27 PM

I'll be trading in a 2012 Mercedes C63 coupe for two cars... the C7 and a Kia Sportage :). I drive the C63 year round (I live in Canada) but won't be doing this with the C7 and also need something to truck kids in when the wife can't.

mikeyg36 02-17-2013 03:23 PM

I refuse to trade in my Camaro. I might add the Vette eventually.

WesC5 02-17-2013 04:04 PM

No trade. Just sold my 2001 vette coupe (Mag Red) 15 months ago.... I miss her! Still have my '04 vette. Been saving my pennies for many years waiting on the C7....and so dang glad I did. Amazing piece of American ingenuity! :stingray:

Really have to see the C7 in the flesh and then it's either a garage expansion or sell the 2012 ZL1.:noidea::noidea:

Anyone going to have both the 5th gen Camaro and the C7 Corvette in their garage? (keeping the Camaro)

If, when the time comes, I could make it work, I would. I hate to say it though, it would make much more sense to keep the BRZ if I can swing that. The BRZ has basically become my daily driver. Two garage queens would be too much for me (at least until retirement when I would have more time to enjoy both).

I don't drive all my cars as it is, so the Camaro's going to go and maybe another one...or two.

It's just so hard to decide. I'll say "I'm going to sell this one" but then I have all these reasons I just don't want to.

That's always how it is.. you can never have enough toys, even if you don't get to play with all of them much :)

What's your current car lineup look like? Sounds like more than just the two cars in your profile :thumb:
