Nice. I had one for a while. I'm trying to buy it back to build a racer out of it. I want to do SCCA racing. The class restrictions for what I want to do requires that if you swap engines, it needs to be from the same manufacture. I read that to mean that since the factory engine is Mitsubishi, them I have to swap in a Mitsubishi engine. I want to do a 4g63 turbo swap from either a Eclipse of an older gen EVO. I've done the research. It has been done a few times. There is also, quiet a few Conquests with Ford 302s swapped into them. There's a company that even sells a swap kit with all required mounts and adapters.

This is a decent weighted car for track use. The swaps I have seen are from a late 90's GSX eclipse. The little truck motor in there is a decent driver engine, but not for the track; the stroke is too long and only a 12 valve wet manifold as I recall.

Would like to hear more of your plans for SCCA.

Agreed; almost as cool as the LS1 swaps for a 3rd Gen Rx-7.
