2013 Hundia Genesys to have 345HP

The 2013 V6 Direct Inject motor will soon put out 345hp 290lb tq. Any word on what GM is doing with the V6? Not that those with a Camaro have any interest in a Genesys.

Interesting. The 2012's camaro's have the same amount of TQ as the 10's-11's? If thats the case them gm will need to step up and increase tq on the 13's i would think.

Toyota Tiburon or their Celica??

Back to the OP

But the Genesis is always going to have an edge as it weighs less than the Camaro.

Genesis Coupe V6 ~3400lbs
LS Camaro ~ 3800lbs

So what, its a Hyundai. If Yugo came back with a 350 hp car would anyone care?

The world doesnt revolve around HP numbers. Plenty of cars have more power than the Camaro... especially the V6 (thats not a dig on a V6).

I'd have a Camaro over a Hyundai everyday, twice on Sunday, regardless of power.

I would have liked this car had it been a Lexus but Hyundai has never been a name brand I could ever have faith in after the cars they built in the late 80's, the entire 90's, and up until a couple of years ago.

Seems to me GM feels that the V6 is for the everyday pedestrian owner. Meaning those that cant afford a V8 or dont want the power of a V8 can afford and enjoy the power of a V6.
With that said, if your remember GM will be using either the LLT or LFX V6 in the new DI formula series races. There I am sure the research will happen. Will it go to production or parts that we can purchase who knows.
As far as worrying about the competition, Honda, Kia, Ford, Hyundai, Nissan, Chrysler... etc, dont. Someone will always have something better / faster. It all depends on what you like and can afford.
