Question for any divorced members

So what did you do with your old wedding band?
Were you able to sell it to be melted down?
If so where did you go?
How much did you get?

Mine is 14 Karat white gold, retail it was $520 bucks. Just want to see if I can get any money for the gold to put into the Camaro. Thanks!

I lost mine 15 years ago. lol

She still has hers. I thought of replacing it but what's the point. Doesn't change anything.

Try E-Bay. I'm betting you can get more for the ring than the gold IN the ring.

But there should be a local place that can measure it and let you know. You may not know till it's melted down already.

you won't get anywhere near what you paid for it, maybe enough for a tank of gas.

I threw mine out the window of my car, dunno what she did with hers.

I have no idea what happened to mine. When I split up from my ex I took it off and put it in her dresser. I'd say you'd be lucky to get back $100 out of it from a pawn shop. Like PQ said, try eBay or even Craigslist. Good luck!

Take it into a local gold buying store. I just took some gold into one before the holidays. (became MOD $$)..... With gold going at over $1400. an ounce. You won't get the full value but you will get something. Being 14K it is approx. 1/2 the value as pure gold.

As for the original question I had my X wedding band melted down and made a different ring for myself. But that is what I just turned I for the mod money. So skip the middle step and go straight for the cash.

As part of my divorce, I got her ring back LOL. So have a 8K ring that I need to get rid of eventually and some other stuff. She ended up with mine and it was 1200ish for mine. Who knows what she did with it, but less than a year later she was married again. Thank god that part of my life is behind me, on to bigger and better things.

Right on, I'll see if I can find a gold buying store somewhere here in San Diego.

Life has never been better for me!!!

I still have mine....its also 14 Kt White Gold. I personally, have a friend that is a custom jeweler.....when I am ready to have something made for either me or my new bride....I will give it to him to be part of the new piece. It will just save me that much off the price.
