Is the new 392 HEMI underrated?

Well i am sorry that it upset you. But I figured the "mods" would put it in the right place.

ANYWAYS. It's overated. When we added that much HP look what happened. We have a new monster. They barley just beat the Camaro and still lose the Mustang. If it saves me 10k Camaro any day.

ummmm, 114 trap speed? Also Motor Trend got anywhere from 12.9-13.1 from the SS. Car and Driver got 12.9 from the chanllenger, 13.0-13.1 for the SS and DRUMROLL! 13.2 from the Mustang GT with Brembos and 3.73 gears..... Go by mag times if you want, it isn't going to be pretty. Remember, one has already ran a 12.4 (automatic vs the other 6 speed) and also, as far as price, if you option out a Camaro even close to what the SRT comes with feature wise (given you can't because the SS just doesn't offer all the features of the SRT), you are basically at 40 grand, same with the Mustang.

Good point, except you're looking at just about $50K for the SRT8 392 OTD.

The 6.4 is going to be in all SRTs starting at 43100, and the 40k for the Mustang and Camaro are before TTL also, and don't give me any crap about markups either because people have gotten the 392s ordered at invoice. Remember the 392 is basically a package for looks. the regular SRT8s will perform just as well. |

We're on the same page, since the $50K price I quoted is basically MSRP + TTL. Good way to split the difference. Either way, the 392 seems like a good ride now. You should get one.

Actually pricked out a loaded GT (with auto since it seems to be the 1/4 mile champ and the SRT has auto standard) and it was 42500 (no glass roof BTW, that would have put it at 44,495), SS with everything but the sunroof was right at 40k. but again can't be optioned to the levels of the SRT or Mustang. The truth is, even at these prices, I can't think of any other vehicles that can touch these 3 for the price.

Are the 392 equipped SRTs going to get popped with the Gas Guzzler tax? The 6.1 SRTs were, and I believe that added $3k to the price.
