I thought it was something I said! I started having visions of 18+ years (?) of collective knowledge disappearing without any fanfare.

I offered about a year or so ago to create a new site with a very low member annual fee ($12 per year (just $1.00 per month)) and it would have absolutely zero advertising, totally member supported, didn't get much traction at the time because everyone thought "free" was great... Today, not so much...

I have run a Professional Pilot forum for the last 17+ years using the same concept, it has had less than 3 hours total down time in the entire 17 years, it is run on Enterprise grade web servers, there are no pop-up ads, no "sponsors", no spamming the forums everyday with ads, just good, solid reliable info for the membership... It runs the same software but a much newer version (vBulletin 4.2.5 vs this sites vBulletin 3.8.9 Beta 4) but would still be very easy to use and be very familiar to the current forum members...

I'd be open to create and run the site for Camaro Enthusiast that are willing to part with just $12/year to support the site ($1.00 per month), I just do not want to deal with the BS of advertisers and such...

If there is a large enough interested group, I'd be happy to do it, we could make it for all Gens of Camaros and have separate areas for each... I think it would be awesome for all Camaro owners, especially as the Camaro legend is coming to an end...

Let me know, if there is some decent interest, I'd be willing to put in the effort to create and maintain the site and I guarantee it would be FAR more reliable than this site (and much better moderated and maintained)...

I’d be willing IF you were able bring over the content of the current forum. There is too much good information here to loose.

I agree with everyone. I would have a tough time not being able to look at the forum every day. It's the best best forum I've seen or been a part of. From the beautiful CamaroGen5 pics to the knowledge and help you get is a nice change a pace from politics, work and all the other BS going on in life. Great people too!! Who knew I'd be speaking to friends on the phone from Florida, Pennsylvania and everywhere else, along with posts and private messages. Anyway, I noticed this issue about two weeks ago maybe. Hopefully the MODS can address this(along with that pop-up problem we had) and we don't have to worry about this site closing down.

I’m using AdGuard, which was working for that sliding banner but, now it’s not working, again. Not good.

All in all, I for one still enjoy the forum, and when it's down for a short while, so be it, I can wait. Still curious about why these technical difficulties now that the site should be seeing less traffic than in the past, but I'm not going to "demand" a "resolution".
This site is one of MANY that are hosted on the same server, using the same software. Camaro5.com and CorvetteForum.com are just two of the other sites that live here, too.

When this site goes down, they are ALL down. The Admin is seemingly non-present on this site in any capacity and it has been that way for as long as I can remember. Multiple outages over the last year and never a word as to what happened let alone any sort of 'we apologize for the inconvenience' sort of message.

I would be willing to work with you on this and help admin the site as well. While I appreciate the -idea- of zero advertising in exchange for a "low" membership fee, enthusiast sites are hard to support off of membership fees. Sponsors and advertising are generally what make it work.

Feel free to PM if you want to start a convo and I'll happily share a couple of ideas I have that might be a way to bolster use and membership.

I'm new here. It looks somewhat similar to the IMBOC forum for Mustang Bullitt owners; which was of interest to me as I had an 08 for many years.
