I agree, will roll in about 230 to dump my load off at the track for Magnuson's display then off to eat some Mexican food and then off to the greet and meet.

Last year we had people running other classes and we had to wait for them in the staging lanes and held people up . I was even waiting for some guy who ran autocross and it held up OUR class at the drag strip , I have three camaros each one built for a different class. They are no rules against multiple cars single driver .

Lumping ZL1s in the Super Mod class was unfair. How is a ZL1 going to compete with 9 second cars? What happened to the ZL 1 class?

Wasn't there so can't speak for it but I4's got grouped into the V6 class for low turnout reasons more then likely. The same can be said for ZL1's not enough actually register for the class to have one. The vast majority end up classed out of the ZL1 only class because of modifications and conversions. They have to make these changes otherwise it costs to much time and money and makes the whole process more complicated. I'm sure the V6 guys didn't enjoy being lumped in with 12 and 10s I4's at all.

I loved the experience please don’tget me wrong but for next year we will have 4 years of Gen 6 Zl1 s. Let’s have a ZL1 class. If people don’t make it to the staging lanes on time then move on. Don’t wait. I appreciate all of the people who put the event on!

I understand you 100% I don't know how well the communication was this time I heard it wasn't any better at 8 then it was at 7. I wish they'd maybe spend a little more time talking to the drag racers about it but I also feel their point of view being if you know your class time is coming up soon maybe not be doing other shit. It's easy to get lost looking at all the cars and events and vendor booths and maybe miss your class but that's just a lack of common sense on the individuals part. I'm hoping this year was overall better i'm looking forward to next year immensely just waiting for that announcement I like how they got right on it with 9 and didn't wait til freakin fall or late winter to announce it.

Absolutely true! No way a modified 5th gen V6 can compete with a heavily modified I4 running in the mid 13's. Yeah, it is still fun but just not a fair grouping for sure. I ran 14.570 in my elimination run vs 13.444. (14.539 was my best run in that heat this weekend) They seemed better matched to run in unlimited V6 class. But whatever.

I had a great time, fought the car all day Friday till Mike figured out we had clogged cat converters. We couldn't get the car to run faster the 10.77 and cutting those cats off and dumping the crap out with another retune we ended up running a best of 9.77@142. I messed up and didn't read the classes till it was to late and then realized I could have run the V8 Super Mod class, my bad. So lessoned learned don't run aftermarket high flow cat with over 800 rwhp. You'll pay the fiddler like I did as it could have damaged the motor.

I had a blast on the track. I was there for fun, for test and tune. Both me and my wife enjoy just running the car and having a blast. We did, enjoyed it, heat and all.

I did chuckle a bit, as my wife was in the staging lanes, and the car she was going to run with was a "Bolt On". He was talking with some people about what bolt on's he had, and it went like this "....yeah, love it, I have bolted on headers, the CAI, and a cam.". LOL, dang it, I never thought about it, but my supercharger has 6 bolts on both sides of it, I was in the wrong class....hehehehehe. I didn't care, we are all having fun and enjoying the day. Yeah, she beat him anyway.

And as far as communication from the tower, it was pretty quiet on friday and I spoke with Mike that night. Then Sat, the announcer was on it hard all day long. If you missed your call for your class, your ass was sleeping and not paying attention.

No i agree with you Ruby the rules for the I4/V6 class were not very well followed. It states bolt-ons only but in other classes built engines or upgraded FI class you out of bolt-ons. Ultimately the Fest is for fun and i believe everyone does have fun and that's paramount but stupid oversights or eh does it matter things can leave a bitter taste in people's mouths.
