New Member!* ( 2020 Camaro LT1 A10 ) Question: TO-DO List for newbie Camaro owners
Hello All! Just created my account yesterday. I joined the Camaro family in April 2020. Purchased a 2020 LT1 ( A10 )! Fell in love with the vehicle on first sight and drive.
A little history: My mom had a 76' Camaro, when I was a kid, but it got stolen where she was working at and the Camaro story ended. BUT, now I have taken the reigns back and I am ready to begin my journey with the Camaro lineage. Stopping where my Mom left off. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My first question is a pretty board one: As a new Camaro owner, that just got out of the break-in period @ 1800 miles, I wanted to know what are some of the first steps to take to protect your investment and/or items to purchase that make the experience that much better IE ( Bolt-on's, Interior / exterior mods, ect.. ) Currently, my first purchase is a Mishimoto Catch Can. I am hesitant to put this on because of the warranty period. Again, thank you all for the great content I see on the daily, and keep it REVIN!! Thanks, Last edited by CodeRev; 06-21-2020 at 07:48 AM. CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

First I will state the obvious, it's not an investment. Second, if you want to protect it, park it in a garage. Third, my warranty was null and void at 651 miles. It's your car, enjoy it.

Welcome.
I would avoid any mods other than possibly some cosmetic ones for a while... AT LEAST get through the break-in period. The more you drive it, the more you will know it as GM built it, and the more you may appreciate what's already there. Or, the better you will know where you want to put your money. The only thing I am considering doing "early" will be an exhaust swap because mine doesn't have NPP. |

Great purchase! I would consider doing the protective clear bra on the snout to deter rock chips. Not sure if the catch can will affect warranty (other members can chime in) but it is highly recommended for the direct injection engines. Do your oil changes religiously at 5000 miles as this practice (along with the catch can) helps reduce the crud build-up on the intake valves. That's all I would recommend. Enjoy the car for what it is and don't try to make it into something it isn't.
