Though he did mention that all the mods cost $6500 in total (maybe the guy he bought it from said that).

He did seem honest and genuine enough but did not strike me as mechanically inclined. But if you did $6500 in mods to your Camaro you’d think you would have a few of the receipts (something I haven’t asked about yet).
$6,500 in mods can be a WIDE range of mods. Someone asked what someone would do for $5k a while back and with doing much of the work myself I said things like budget headers and catback, budget cold air intake, cam installed at a shop, tune by a reputable tuner, gears, etc. If someone had a shop do most of the installations, some shops will charge $800 to install some headers on top of the price of headers and a tune. You can be nearly $3k into a higher priced set of headers and tune if you buy at and have them installed by a shop. Combine that with a $2,000+ for a catback with shop installation and that $6,500 doesn't sound so impressive anymore.

Exactly right. You can get a good ways doing the stuff your self but if paying someone else to do it you won’t get far. I’f the guy did the mods himself I’m betting a lot that hed know exactly what parts it got and every nut and bolt he touched.

In all seriousness, given the current car market, there is no fair price. Just compare it with other cars in the area to get an idea for value comparison.

Well, Camaro was never built for "flex fuel" so I don't know what the seller means.

Personally, I find mods to detract, rather than enhance, value. You might spend thousands undoing bad decisions.

But nothing beats a careful inspection and a long test drive to decide whether you like the car.

Everyone has their dream. I used to mod the crap out of my cars but these days, I prefer only lightly modded, if at all. Tastes change and these days, when I go out and look for something fun to buy, I'm looking for something as close to stock as I can find. If I do decide to do a mod, then I have a clean slate to work from.

1SS or 2SS

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but if it has a red SS badge it is 2SS. White SS badge is 1 SS.

I will say pre-covid market, I bought a 2011 2SS/RS manual with 36k on the odo. The guy had it listed for 18.5k and walked away with it for 16.5k.

No. If it has a red SS it is an SS/RS.

Red SS = SS w/ RS package
White SS = SS w/o RS package

You can have a red or white SS in either 1SS or 2SS trim levels.

Check the data tag in the trunk. I have put on white SS’s because they match the stripes but it’s a 2SS/RS.

Nope.

White badge, non-RS SS. red badge, RS and could be 1SS or 2SS.

I have a 2SS non-RS. It has white SS badges.

The way you tell 1SS from 2SS is leather seats in the latter.

Thank you to all for the clarification on the SS badges.

2SS does NOT have navigation. Not a 2010 anyway.
