OE Parts
Does anyone have any recommendations for OE GM (Chevy specific) parts at a better price than you typically get going to the dealer next door? I have another Chevy I need to pick up some parts from a small accident. Looking at a few places online, generally, every site I run into has bad reviews. I'd imagine there are few dealers and other shops that do sell factory OE parts at a cheaper price online.
And I am sorry if this is the wrong section of the forum. To me, it didn't seem to match any specific. |

You can also locate part numbers and then plug them into Google or similar to see where you might be able to get them from.

These are some of the sites I typically check when I need an OE part.
As recommended above, Googling the part number should be part of your process -- sometimes Amazon has the best price. Rock auto is another good suggestion. Basically, check all of the GM parts sites, Amazon, Rock Auto and Google Search results and price them out after added to cart and all shipping costs calculated. All of the online options should be less expensive than your local dealer.

For smaller parts, these sites are definitely your best bet.

I read about maloufpartsxperts.com on another forum and prices are good but shipping killed it. Total. price was about $4,000 and $1,250 was shipping. If I took out the hood I need, that only knocked off $50 of the shipping. Basically just repairing small but costly frontend damage on a car (2nd gen Volt). I'm seeing if the parts guy I have been talking to is able to do better on the shipping.
totalgmparts.com and gmpartsgiant.com basically come in the same price as Malouf but their shipping is closer to $300. My concern is just reading of various sites and actually getting the parts. I do need them ASAP as every day this car is down it is costing me money. |

If anyone cares, totalgmparts.com (AutoNation) I went with. I placed my order online but had a note that also trying to make sure of being able to add all the mounting hardware that I would also need for the bodywork. A rep reached out to me and after a few calls and emails, I got what I needed.
One issue I had with just about every other place/dealer was asking for help with was figuring out the mounting hardware. They all referred me to body shops to figure it out and then to get back to them. I didn't like that as I wasn't going to do business with the body shop so I'm sure they didn't want to help me. And the couple of body shops I called would only be able to help on an overall quote if I brought the car in, which wasn't going to be possible.
