MBRP VRS BORLA VRS CORSA VRS AWE

Why is the MBRP $1000 cheaper than the others? Looks quality to me.

From what I understand it is not stainless steel, so technically quality is not on par with the other brands you mention. Plenty of forum members get by with it just fine without issues. I haven't heard it in person myself so dont have a preference, but if I like it I would buy it without much concern.

I agree it's not stainless it's the galvanized aluminum which might be wrong about that specifically but most people will never know the difference, that thing won't rust through in the owners period of having the car. I really don't see it as an issue, there's little need to go high end stainless steel. IMHO.

I've run a MBRP galvanized system on my Mustang GT/PP1 that I had for 3 years and it was good-to-go.

Greed, that is pretty much it. You are paying for a name brand. With half of what someone would spend on one on these "quality systems", you can do headers and a mid pipes. You get the sound AND the power for half the price. Sounds like a no-brainer to me, but people seem to love buying $2,000+ catbacks and complain about it after the fact

One thing for certain, sound quality aside, greed definitely is part of the equation. I really like the sound / quality of AWE and initially ordered a car with dual tip exhaust, saving $ on NPP, then I could buy for less $ an AWE dual tip set up. I ended up getting a car off a lot and it has the NPP quad tip. With that said, I refuse to pay $500 more for the exact same AWE exhaust, with two more welded on exhaust tips.

Holy cow, Kooks are expensive.
With that being said I have never had anyone look under one of my cars and comment nice stainless steel catback.
I can afford any of these but I am smart enough to shop value.

When I shopped, they were all within +- $100 of the other. Probably still are. And, since HPE installed Kooks LT and green cats on mine, it made sense not to mix and match and buy another brand.

I was looking at getting a Mbrp axleback for my ss but I ended up going with a borla atak with the npp. I found a deal for one for $600. I wanted the npp just so that I’m able to put it into stealth mode when I come home late at night and also when I get headers to put it into stealth at night. Only get Mbrp if you want your car to be loud at all times. If you plan on getting headers it will be insanely loud. I think the main differences between borla and Mbrp is that borla won’t drone, build quality is better on borla while I’ve seen many Mbrp exhaust rust, then your also just paying for the name, then the option of getting the npp valves on borla.

The factory exhaust is made of the same material.

As long as there is free and honest competition, I don't mind different price points and product ranges, even if some vendors may be making a killing with their products. The "best value" is not the same for all people, some don't mind paying a 100% higher price for 1% more performance or "value", and that is all good.

Has anyone heard of someone that has used the Flowmaster American Thunder axle back?
I know Flowmaster makes a great sound in the past.

I bought my 18 with an AWE touring cat back. I have heard others but for me non sound as good. The track is nice but a little too loud.

The only thing I’ve read bad about MBPR is some complain about drone.
