Hopefully that engine makes power way over 5000 rpm because that would be disappointing. That car should be making 700+ hp.

I was planning on my next car being the C8. But if the C8 goes mid engine I will be looking elsewhere.

I'm on board either layout... my next car is a C8 unless it's hideous...

Speculative, but interesting.

So a big reason I like these OHV engines is obviously the torque, but isn't it entirely possible that the DOC motor could make more hp at the top and equivalent or more torque at the bottom?
DOHC won't bug me if they don't shift the power band so high that it sucks everything out of the bottom of the curve.

The problem is to get the big fat low end torque curve you need displacement. OHC is bigger just because you have all the cams sitting on top of the heads so it's tough to make a 6.2L DOHC fit into anything. They do however breathe way better and spin safely way higher. So naturally the powerband is in a different part of the RPM range. It seems if you want to keep an engine N/A you have two choices. Big displacement or big RPMs

If it's forced induction, DOHC can make some big numbers. The 5.8 Trinity made similar torque to the LS9 but made 30 more hp.

I wonder how the mid engine layout impacts engine packaging. They might be able to fit a larger displacement DOHC engine in a mid engine Corvette.

I mean they did fit the lt5 in the same spot as the lt1/4. It had decent displacement and anice powerband. Also i remember one build where they spun one over 9k. But i highly doubt they will care to make a big cube dohc with the way everything is going forced induction.

Hmmm....intersting. A 6.2L all aluminum DOHC. That would be a freakin BEAST!!!!! Or maybe a small displacement TT DOHC V8 powerplant.
