Loss of power

I have a question for any of you transmition experts out there. My wife was shooting her car down the quarter with the traction control off and in the paddle shift mode and about an 1/8 mile or so lost pull. the engine didn't shut off or redline but wasn't going anymore, she said she let off the gas and moved the lever back to drive and then it picked up again and was fine....any ideas?

she did run it down the track again, both in auto and sport mode, but it didn't do the same thing

Sounds like she hit the rev limiter. I hit it once and it's about like stepping on the brakes.

Can you hit the rev limiter on the auto?

I've found the 2011 tranny tunes are the worst out there. My car was programmed from the factory to NOT shift correctly. It will rev to the limiter, pull back throttle and finally shift. Feels like a big dead spot like you describe.
