Modern spare solution

Have 2020 convertible with ru flats. Everything I've researched states that modern spare hasn't came out with anything for 2020 convertibles. Any ideas

Their website shows compatible kits for your car. Coupes and convertibles use the same tires so the same kit works for both.

The only difference you'd need to worry about is that cars with the 6 piston Brembos require lager wheel 19" vs 18" for caliper clearance otherwise Coupe/convertible/2016-2023/I4/V6/V8 all use the same ModernSpare.

The website doesn't distinguish between coupe and convertible because those options are not critical to fit, only the difference for ZL1 to non-ZL1, not sure if this is why you're thinking that it won't work.

There are a couple of threads out there already of people using a ModernSpare kit with Convertibles.

I think they've addressed this by offering the ZL1 version... no?

Here's the link to the non-ZL1 version: https://modernspare.com/product/2016...including-zl1/

When I take long trips I throw a spare in the trunk. I have no issues putting a 20" in the trunk. Doesn't leave a lot of room for anything else but it works. If you are running run flats then why worry about it.

Guess it depends where you are going. Run flats supposedly only good for 50 mile distance at their rated speed (50 mph, maybe?). Somebody posted a picture of a collapsed run flat a while back.

Well, if ya're referring to a ZL1, it'd be a 305/30x20, & I believe there'd be some doubt as to whether that size will fit in the trunk?!

Looks like it. They used to have a spacer for the 18" spare that spaced it out enough to clear the big brakes, but now it looks like they have a 19" version instead, no spacer needed.

If anyone needs the spacer for the modern spare (ZL1 or 1LE), I have one I’ll give you for free, just pay shipping. I have a modern spare and sold my ZL1 for a LT1, so the spacer is just a paper weight now…

Yes, I think they have, or will have a 19" version, but that, & the spacer, is not the main issue here. The main issue is where do you store your 20" 305/30x20tire after fitting the spare. Thank you to those who have responded to me previously on this matter, & some have said it will "probably" fit in the rear seat space (or the trunk?), but no-one is 100% sure that it will fit in either of these spots,...so I would ask, has anyone actually stowed a 305/30x20 wheel & tire in the trunk or rear seat space?

I too am curious, if the 305/30-20 will fit, before I order the Modern spare for the ZL1, I don't want to strap it to the trunk lid. I haven't purchased a low boy floor jack or installed my ZLoneaddons pucks yet, or I'd already have my wheels off and detailed and try rear tire an wheel fitment in back seat.
