Easily the best thread on this whole forum. Sub'd because this is epic!

I have a 2018 ZLE as well. Use case is 80% Street (Backroads) + 20% Track.

I would love to see what a LTW Flywheel would do to my otherwise stock car.

That's crankshaft horsepower. We even reduced timing around peak torque and it still bent all the rods.

Yeah. I'll be around 1150 bhp on this Wednesday's dyno/ tune and we are discussing how much further the short block can go. It's got your XDI +30

Good Afternoon Guys, its been awhile! Things have been good on the car, I have a few videos at Pitt Race and Grattan Raceway. The car is running very well.

I am working on getting a PDF of the dyno numbers to post to the forums, but this was a success using only 10 lbs of peak boost. Fueling showed we had room for full E85 with the fuel system we decided to go with, but ended up experiencing the dreaded "factory check valve restriction" issue that some other forum members have discovered as well. I created a solution for the check valve and we are getting ready to run it at chassis dyno again. I am hoping to have some time during the day to run over while it is being ran to grab some footage of E85 this time around.

I will break down some of the development and feedback from this build process involving the fueling related items as well as the logic behind the combination in the coming days.

Update on the dyno session. The fuel system fell just short on E85. It was a fun science experiment but still needs some work. My low side fuel system held near 80 psi all the way to 8000 RPM. My LT4 fuel pump ended up maxing out on fuel pump angle and falling to near 2200 PSI. At this low of fuel pressure, I ended up maxing out the 30% XDI injectors fairly quickly. I was able to make a pass all the way to 8000 RPM on E85, but had no fuel to make real power. The current options are either port injection or an XDI external HPFP.

For the time being, I will enjoy 93 octane. I ended up making over 800rwhp at 8000 RPM with 10 lbs of peak boost.

I ended up joining a few forum members and GM employees at Pitt Race for Lambert Track Days. Despite some of the rain during the day, the track dried off fairly quick for some enjoyable laps on a very fast track. It was my first time there, I was happy to see mid 1:50 lap times on a street alignment. Not too shabby for a rookie on that track. This car is a different animal now, the powerband is so linear that it can be taken advantage of just about anywhere.

Awesome project - congratulations! I would love see/hear some video of that beast winding out to 8000+ RPM.

Such a sick build. Congrats!

Any track footage or dyno videos? I wanna hear this LT4 scream at 8k!

Thank you guys. I do have some footage but the audio quality is not great. I will try to scrap together any footage of the vehicle with a decent sound bite. I used an external mic setup in a few places via GoPro at both Pitt Race and Grattan, but a few of these sessions were wet so the speed is not there. I will do my best.

It does sound great though, I will say that!

While this may not be the most popular location, I've found that an external mic in the glove compartment captures the best audio with the LT4. If you mount in the typical spot, rear bumper, all you get is exhaust and no engine noise. The glove compartment captures a mix of both and sounds great IMHO. I feel it gives more of the in cabin experience.

Can't wait to hear it once you get some footage together!

Cannot wait to hear and see 8000rpm!

What wheels did you have on at Pitt? They look good!
