I tried an aux fuel pump on my turbo LS3 Camaro, I wasn't a fan. No leaks but I wasn't confident in it. I ended up replacing the tank and doing a dual in tank pump.

So the alternatives to upgrading the in tank low side pump so far are:

Auxiliary system

Methanol

Port injection?

Port Injection does not alleviate the need for a low side upgrade. It doesn't matter if it's PI, DI or both combined. The low side feeds whatever is upstream, and you will eventually need a more capable low side depending on how much power you want to make.

I think you are confused by Laynlo's post on his setup. The port Injection is allowing him to run more Ethanol since he is no longer high side limited. He is now low side limited and will eventually run out if he keeps pushing the power higher.

We are both at similar power levels and hence why we can run a stock low side with JMS. My high side is more limited than his but is still plenty for where I am at. E72 isn't gaining much of anything over E60. So, if your power goals are 700 whp or less with Ethanol, you can do it with a LT4 low side and JMS setup. High side can be Port Injection or +30 injectors with LPE DI pump.

I wouldn't use Methanol injection for supplemental fueling. For added cooling and not relying on it as added fuel, then sure.

Ok awesome
Now I see the reason why Greg was talking about the new Camaros coming with the LT4 low side from the factory

This is why we install a bulkhead fitting in every car that we use an aux pump on.

Mine will be on the rack in the next week or two and we'll probably do this

Yep that's the key to no leaks right there.

On the dyno with 10 psi we still had over 72 psi on the 98 mm pulley. Now I've got a 95mm on the car now and waiting for the 10 rib belt to arrive tomorrow. We will get back on the dyno next week to see where we are at with that setup. The 95 should keep us just under 11 lbs of boost and that should put us real close to 700 rwhp and 650 torque. That's my limit on what I want to make and if that will get me close to the 9s I'll be happy, I think. If you want to do PI your going to have to find a C7 Lid or Mike will have to build one which he is thinking about doing. The stock Camaro 2300 won't fit under the hood, it won't close or guess it might but you damage the hood. So don't try it.

Ok very good info
Thanks again for pioneering this
I've been checking the forums every day to see your progress!
Exciting times

Getting good responses in this thread

Key points:

*Use correct fitting for Aux connection to tank

*Always keep at least quarter tank of gas in tank if you are using an Aux setup (hard to do with E85)

*Methanol as fuel is more risk than it's worth for the average weekend racer

Thanks for sharing! What bulkhead is that and how does it install? Bulkheads that I’m familiar with have a nut on the inside as well.

I've had a couple buddies leak so that will save a lot of headaches of having to try and reseal it over and over.

I’d like to know how this was installed too because you’re right about the nut being on the inside. Anyone have more information on the install of this Cordes bulkhead fitting?
