Sounds like good advice oldman- I also bought a new inch/lb wrench (not from Harbor Freight!) just for this job, but I will still be listening to my hands and head when snugging everything down.
Thanks for your input- |

Matt you mentioned I won't be re-using the metal shim/gasket that came with the stock TB. The MSD comes with its own metal and adhesive backed rubber gasket for a TB to mount on their IM.
I'm guessing I am to use these pieces when assembling the 95mm to the MSD, correct? I don't remember seeing any mention of these parts in the instructions, so what order am I looking for? Stick the rubber gasket to the TB, then the metal gasket on the MSD side? That's just my best guess- please advise. Thanks! |

What do you think the gains would be on a Procharger Stage 2 car? Significant like the OP or less so?

Think it will be much less, usually pumping losses in the intake are easy to work around by upping the boost a tad. Say it is worth less than 1 PSI lof boost, the smallest pulley changes are 2 PSI.

The reply about pumping loss is correct. I would not use the MSD under boost because I think it would leak. I also never liked using a FAST manifold because of that issue.

Here is my last one: I know you said the RotoFab air inlet tube would stretch over the 95mm TB, I've got the GM cai. Will it stretch over also (maybe with a little hair dryer heat to warm it up)? Thanks again! |

It will stretch right over. You shouldn't need any heat to make it go on.

Started under way with this install Matt, but I can't get that brake booster line to disconnect at the "T" under the A/C line.
What's the secret for this connection? Thanks in advance! Uhmm.. never mind, I got it. But I'm sure I'll be back with something else, LOL! Last edited by Ventmaster; 11-03-2018 at 03:13 PM. |

has any one used the weapon x ported 95 on stock ported i/m and their adapter plate...
I also have rot fab dry and a tune if so did you go from 87 ported to 95 or stock to 95 and what were you're impressions.. I don't know if I should start another thread for this or not.. I don't want to go msd for a couple of reasons... low end loss and possibility of pro charger in the future |

Well she's on! Gonna wait for a first impressions drive in the morning...
Had a few "gee, no one has mentioned that" moments during the install, but overall it was pretty straight forward. And BTW- if anyone is looking to pick up a stock IM or TB from a 2017 SS with < 9K miles for a good price, drop me a PM! 1st impressions tomorrow, I promise... got a stretch of old highway with 3 jurisdictions covering it- IOW, nobody! Good times! |
