Here's some info from the Corvette Black Book:

fifth digit 4=350 ci, 225 hp
fifth digit 8=350 ci, 195 hp

But here's an online source of information:https://www.corvsport.com/1979-c3-corvette/

There's nothing rare or gem-like about smog-era Corvettes.

Brings back the day I bought a NEW 1979 L82 auto (3sp) when I was 18. Still wished I had it.

I don't have a job right now and my credit is none of your damn business, I can get into a debate of new VS. used cars and I plan to get a new car(custom order) some time in calendar year 2020 (because towards the end of the year is bad for manufacturing)

can you please stop trolling me/giving me flack

Interesting, what is it about the end of the year that is bad for manufacturing?

~1976 - 1991 vettes are horrible and you will go broke trying to make any real power with them, steer clear of them.

I have no idea why MiamiBlueCamaro is being such a douche...but crazy enough I like more than just camaro's and if someone comes to enthusiasts for a help we probably shouldnt be a jerk to them... camaro or vintage corvette, get what u want and can afford.

Surprised this thread is still here. At minimum it should probably go to the general topics section. What a 1979 Corvette and a 6th Camaro have in common can fit on the top of an atom.

Malaise era. 1973-85. Killed all performance on every car.

It’s actually weird to see cars like a ‘76 Eldorado with a 7.4 liter engine put out 180 hp tops when in perfect tune.

The way you've been treated around here is sad. But your response isn't going to help things. Your best bet is just ignore him or delete your account and start over.

Just giving facts here, I do not judge. I think the most important thing in life is to accept everybody as they are and let them live their life the way they want.

But a fact is that this member has been posting some, how can I say... Confusing posts since he is here. First he started asking for parts for 6th gen Camaro, then has been requesting info on how to install anything, then switched to 6th gen facelift, now to Corvette.

It is all fine, he has the rights to ask these questions. But I can understand people finding it confusing.

Good luck in your search for a vehicule. Hopefully you will find the right one and taking your time and asking many questions will ensure you get the right thing. And ignore the people trolling you. Focus on the right answers and you will be good!
