Pray Performance

I wanted to make a post here since some don't live on social media. Now I just want to be clear I have no issue with Brett. He has helped me a ton in the past so nothing but respect here. However, I have questions and maybe somebody can get him off of facebook and post here again.

Anyway, yesterday he posted a build. It was a SS M6 car with P1x and drop in pistons with 38% lobe cam. He claims it made 714whp on 93 octane with BONE STOCK FUEL SYSTEM. Yes, you read that right BONE STOCK LT1 Fuel System with NO Meth or PI. Several people asked him how that is possible, and those questions were ignored. Well, he did reply once stating "lots of experience".

Now I get he has a lot of experience on this platform, and he knows more about this stuff then I do, but I also have a fairly good understanding of this platform. And I have no idea how you could possibly make that kind of power on a stock LT1 fuel system DI only with no meth unless you possibly ran it super lean.

Brett, if you are out there, give us tech junkies some info to munch on.

There are plenty of great tuners out there capable of doing great things with the LT fuel systems, without all the drama and horseshit he dishes out.

The Elite Tuned (Vengeance tuners) guys are about the best at tuning these LT cars and can easily pull those type of results from stock LT1/4 fuel systems.

After upgrading to the stage 2 intercooler I ran out of low side fuel pump and stock injectors in the cool air. Put a JMS in and LT4 injectors, still 5.9 ms. Not sure how you'd get away with stock...

I saw that post too on FB... crazy. 717rwhp on stock LT1 fuel system. He did hint about using SMG aux fuel systems (as well as DSX) but did not confirm in his responses he used... I have noticed Brett posting a lot on FB lately especially his head/porting work. Nothing but respect for the work he does for sure!

Personally I have yet to see a LT1 fuel system support 700whp at what I consider a safe AFR. Elite Tuned would likely agree...Now I have seen LT4 fueling and larger fuel lobe cam do 700+.

So I am curious to know what has changed to allow that. I mean he usually does LT4 stuff on his bigger NA builds and any stock fuel system FI build usually gets meth.

Agree..that's about what I would expect.

Yeah seen that too. But even with 38% cam and aux low side, I think the injectors would be tapped. Especially as rich as he likes to run these cars. Brett normally runs a half point richer than most.

Maybe if it was a 1le with lt4 low pump. Plenty of fuel
For hi side with the cam. Now the injectors are probably on the edge

He did say on FB he has the limiter set below 6k to keep the car from blowing up until he can get upgraded fuel system. Just sharing what I saw.

I too was like dam that’s impressive but not sure how it’s possible lol

Well we know mine made almost that much but with Port Injection so would seem to me that it would be tough to make that power on the stock fuel system. Hey I just hang out here to have some fun, could be totally wrong.

That makes more sense. I knew there was no way it had enough injector to make a full pull.

If that was a PD blower making 20% more midrange torque that setup would be out of fuel at 3000 RPMs…

Oh yeah for sure. I am honestly surprised it can even make a pull to 6k rpm but Brett probably has a few tricks under his sleeve with injector timing and rail pressure to squeak a little more out.

The most I had ever seen a stock LT1 fuel system support on 93 was 650whp with a cam. That was the general consensus when discussed in past around here. Which is why upgrading the fuel system has been recommended for years now.

We know the stock LT1 fuel system is good to 550whp on an honest dyno. Add a bigger fuel lobe cam will net another 100whp of fuel headroom on the high side. The cam is going to make the extra 100whp without increasing boost, so you are always up against the LT1 fuel systems limits...hence why nobody runs it on a DI only setup with boost.

So, I will assume there must be a shortage on fuel system components, because I don't really see Brett recommending this setup. Had to be a "make do" situation until fuel system parts show up.
