Call Safelite. They can probably repair it if it's smaller than a dollar bill. There are several in your area: http://www.safelite.com/Service-Loca...chlocator_list

WARNING! DO NOT turn on your defroster. It will go all across the glass.

As others have said you might want to get it drilled to keep it from spreading, but I wouldn't try to get it replaced before the fest. You definitley want to make sure they put in an OEM windshield and they usually take at least a couple of days to order.

I had mine crack all the way across when the car only had 2000 miles on it! Safelite did a great job replacing it, but sure enough I got a big chip within a couple of weeks in the new windshield.

Be aware that some race orgs will not let you enter competition with cracked windscreens.
Been there, done that. NHRA tracks don't seem to mind though.

most insurance policies carry a different deductible for auto glass that's usually a lot less than your comprehensive deductible.

It's considered a "no fault" road hazard, so your monthly rate shouldn't increase.

Windshield repair - free
Windshield replacement - your COMP deductable unless you have glass replacement coverage

A buddy of mine got a similar rock chip >>> then crack on his 2006 Pontiac GTO windshield, he's very very particular and wanted to watch the replacement. He was super impressed by Novus Auto Glass (they appear to have locations in LA) and it only cost him $200 total - everything - period - cash. Here in Iowa, they have a mobile glass replacement team that will do all the work in your driveway or garage.

Sorry to hear racergirl. Did you get it replaced yet? I had a rock hit the lower portion of my windshield this morning and 30 seconds later it cracked, about 5-6 inches now. What has been your experience with getting it replaced?

We have a Novus here in close to me so I may run over and see what they have to say.

Sorry for that problem.

I had a chip right in my sight line and I successfully used a store kit to minimize it. Safelite had told me after looking at it, that it was too small for them to add value.

The chip went from being huge and annoying to very small.

I had a rock hit about a 1/4 inch from the edge of the passenger side windshield. The warm sun and cool nights cracked it just shy of $1 (US). Called Safelite and the guy said he can't even resin the crack because of where it's located.....$400 to replace with new. Waiting a week or two to get it done now. Wishing it will just repair itself like Bumblebee did but doubt it will happen since my Camaro is black...not yellow lol

Still not replaced, the crack got even bigger. Hasn't grown since the Fest. I'm going out of town tomorrow, so there was no point in fixing it after the Fest in case something would happen to it
