Looking at a 2010 2SS Manual with 120k miles. What to look for with high mileage?

The car is a one owner and has no accidents with good maintenance records. The lady is a bit older and only asking $8000. I currently have a 2010 SS but it’s an automatic and would like a chance to drive a manual. Are there specific concerns when these cars get over 100k miles? Car seems solid and drives fine. And from what I’ve read the manual has the more reliable engine of the two. It would just be another weekend driver for me.

Kinda odd for $8000. That's dirt cheap for an SS. Mine was double that with similar miles.

I'd run a compression test and verify oil pressure first.

If the clutch is factory that would be an item to look at replacing down the road.

Ensure general maintenance has been kept up. Balljoints, bushings, etc

Listen for noisy lifters and timing chain wear.

Take it to a good mechanic or a Chevy dealer and have them go over the car front to rear and top to bottom.

Thanks for the help all! Unfortunately someone else bought it while I floundered. I just didn’t know enough about the manuals and this was spur of the moment. Next time!

You might have dodged a bullet. KBB puts the median value of that car at a little over $17K (for my zip code). Something's off here.

You missed the boat on a steal.

You’ll NEVER FIND THAT AGAIN!

I haven't missed the boat on a thing; I'm just noting what KBB.com said the private sale value of that car with that mileage in my zip code is. KBB doesn't pull numbers from thin air - the data is collected from sales of similar vehicles in your area. It's a very useful tool. I encourage you to check it out sometime.
