Caught a ton of really cool fish, but the crowds of disrespectful people anymore just ruin it for me, and they trash my state park I work for. So I don't fish as much as I used to, can take it or leave it. Oh, and on the shrimp, if you like to eat they, try the Argentine Reds, they ARE very sweet, tender and great eating!! Those are by far the best, and only ones I eat now. A little pricey, but worth it!!

If it's down , I just go do something else.
But not out of the question to pay a small yearly fee.

Right? And yes, very slow at times, but at least it's up and running for us!

I was researching bunch of technical info for mods I will probably never end up doing, was frustrating having the forum post I need pop up on Google right there within my grasp with the preview text cutting off just before the bit I needed. Also been noticing this happening every week or so, figured it's maintenance or something like that and it's just normal since I'm pretty new and don't know better.

If History repeats itself an it will in 2003 when the 4th gen ended. This site and other Camaro sites became a ghost town, you could wait weeks for someone to answer your questions. When the 2024 ends these cars will disappear quickly many traded in at dealers who just want to get rid of the car and sold at auction real cheep. A lot of these advertisers will be gone also. Right now there is no future in it. The aftermarket will disappear as more and more of these cars hit the junkyard. The 4th gen disappeared almost overnight.

I've been so busy at WORK I didn't even know it was down. No reported posts coming across e-mail so out of sight out of mind.

It's been a nice couple days off.

Exactly... I haven't even asked the question but don't care as long as we're up now and I have my cup of Joe.

When I used to get on very early in the AM I remember there was a 5am scheduled maintenance routine that lasted about 5 minutes. Not sure it that still happens but dealing with spam and making upgrades on the back end have also taken it down a few times over the years. I can guarantee you the admin is actively working this site every day and he's a really good guy. Just not the chatty type and simply going to do what needs to be done without explanation unless one of the mods are curious and asks about it.

I'm not curious...

Most forums these days are owned by Internet Brands. This one has always been the largest privately owned forum out there. GM used to monitor this and a few others very closely and they flew a couple of us to Detroit to tour their Media center and check out those operations among other places. Some may remember them commenting in threads and trying to take care of customers with issues.

Thread moved to the proper section...

This site is very confusing. It's not reachable 1/2 the time. Never monitored (it seems) then it's down for 2+ days... Now it's back up and 3/4's of the threads under the General forum are moved.

Why can't anyone communicate what has been going on?

Unfortunately, that would not be possible unless the admin here agreed to give us the database to import, which I really doubt will happen...

That's too bad, as that would really make what you're proposing very intriguing. the $12 fee isn't an issue, but losing all the accumulated knowledge from this site would be a huge strike.

Thats not true, I bought a 4th gen LT1 car in 2003 and there was plenty of popular forums for the 4th gen, like LS1Tech and CamaroZ28.com.

There’s still quite a few of us that keep an eye on things, though when the site is down, it is for us as well… It’s above our food chain level though…

I can say, the spam bots do get more and more sophisticated every day…

As to the banners, I get those as well… Safari on my iPad, and on my Mac book… I was told some parts of the site we used to monitor for spammers has been restricted even from us as that area was a vulnerability… I suppose success breeds targets… The traffic here has to be seen as attractive pickings… We try to keep up, and the reports from members do help…
