Rent the SS 1LE and see how it drives but good luck on renting a ZL1 for a day! Since you are in the car business you probably know salespeople that work at other dealerships and maybe someone that works at a Chevy dealer. I would see if I could go take a test drive in both, if possible, so you can see the differences between the two. There is a night and day difference between the SS 1LE and a ZL1 which I guess you can tell from this post. I went from a 2016 2SS to my ZL1 and I recommend the ZL1 hands down and I say if you can afford a ZL1 then buy one because you only live once and might as well enjoy this good time that we have now for factory performance cars!

Also to be fair, the same way you can get a used gt350 in the 50's you can get a used 1le in the low to mid 30's. Hell there's new 1ss 1le's sold in the mid/high 30's. I wouldn't pay 50k for a 1le either but that's not necessary when there are plenty of deals out there.

Update, you can buy a lightly used ZL1 for the same $$. And agreed a new $50K SS 1LE is crazy unless you track. I think a lightly used CA6 SS is the best value for around $30K (+-) and the smartest V8 Camaro buy of all. A world class sports muscle car is also crazy at that price.

And agreed the GT350 will hold its value much better than any Camaro.
