Reverse LED Light question

Hey Guys,

So I recently purchased these pair of LED light from amazon that fit the camaro

https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01LX4FMD1

Do i need to have a harness like this to be installed

https://wildhammermotorsports.com/ca...rness-gen5diy/

The main reason why I'm asking this question is because according to the amazon website they are error free and I don't really know what this really means, does it mean that even if the bulb is error free I need to buy a harness or how does that work exactly.

I hope that someone could explain to me as I don't really have any expertise in this field..

Reverse LED Light question

Error free reverse bulb will do nothing for you. All makes and models don’t use the same resistance level for their bulbs either so error free is a misnomer and is a hit or miss.

Specifically for the Camaro, the issue with the LED reverse bulb isn’t the bulb out error but that it stays dimly illuminated once you turn off the car therefore draining the battery.

The harness you linked will address that ghost illumination with a resistor. The bulb you linked may also have a built in resistor. The issue is resistors create heat to work. The positive of the harness is that the heat is not confined in your tail light assembly (i.e. it won’t create excess heat that could potentially damage the tail light housing). With the bulb you’ll have all that heat inside your tail light housing. The heat would only be created during the time that the backup light is illuminated so it may not be too much heat after all.

The Gen5DIY harness works. I can’t say the same about the LED bulbs you linked.

Maybe try asking the question on the amazon product page?

Yeah buy the harness. You only need to put it on one side.
