Yeah I have the same whine, just got out a stethoscope and checked around, definitely the AC compressor. Everything is fine, so I'm just going to let it go for now. Might deal with it later if I ever have it for service

Hey guys, first post here. Wish it was for better things, but this forum seems very helpful. I am also having an whistle under acceleration. Happens with and without the AC on, but happens more often once the engine warms up. Think it is the same issue? I have a dealer visit scheduled for Monday and only have 3K on the odometer (warranty), but still curious. I am a design engineer for Cat so more then curious what could be going on.
I am in 2nd here and you can hear it slightly around 45 mph and then again slowing down. http://youtu.be/4BT0dX3Z5Hk |

Little bump and another video. Sounds like the throttle body hissing. Stock air box on this car still.

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your acceleration whistle. I realize how concerning that would be. Keep us posted on the results of your dealer visit. If necessary, I can contact their designated Customer Experience Manager if you have any additional questions. We'll look forward to your updates . William R. Chevrolet Customer Care |

Thanks for the response, it's appreciated, but had kind of a rough day with the local dealer. Sorry if this sounds like a rant but I feel you should know how your dealerships are treating customers. Well took the car in this morning and took the head service manager out for a ride. He heard the noise and thought I was good to go. Called around noon just to see if they found anything and the guy at the service desk took my number and said he would call back, never did. Around 2 my service writer called and said they could not find the noise, but they did hear it. He had the service manager call me, and I asked how we would proceed next. He said they contacted GM technical service and there were no known issues and he told me to just drive it some more to see if it went away, lol. I asked if we would hear anything more from gm technical service and he said it could take awhile. At that point I went and picked up the car and will not be going back there. As a former auto parts salesman and service writer for an auto shop I cannot believe the lack of care. Good thing is that it rained hard here in town today because the noise went away for awhile. The noise did eventually come back but I'm betting the farm on it being a belt/pulley issue now (got wet, dried out). I dropped it off at the Buick/Cadillac dealership and they seemed to care more about my car. Seemed like they had a few guys into gm performance and one that has a built up camaro. Hopefully they find something and suggest more then just driving it. |

Thank you for the offer to help. Mike Raisor here in Lafayette fixed the issue. They were unable to duplicate the issue at first, and I took their service manager out. After a few miles and an aggressive run from 10-40mph brought out the noise again (tells me they did not push the vehicle hard enough, which is appreciated if you think about it). They over night ordered a main serpentine belt and tensioner and the car is fixed now. They were extremely professional, courteous, and have won over my future business. Absolutely love this car, sorry I ranted earlier. She got washed tonight and applied a coat of chemical guys "Blacklight radiant finish." Great product and recommended. Thanks again guys. |
