Hole in trunk floor

So I am taking my battery out for the winter (Car is in storage). Just got it a few months ago, is this hole supposed to have a plug in it? If so where can I get it? Thank you!

Not to stir up trouble but why would you take your battery out for storage?

Because it is not stored at the house. There is not power where it is. So I have the battery in the garage on a trickle charger.

I'm yet to have my car on a tender over winter storage and I'm still on the original August 4, 2009 battery. She's been stored every year since I've owner her and I was told every year before then. You should be fine without pulling the battery.

It is going to sit till end of feb/early March without being started up. So I don’t want to deal with a dead battery. This way I just drop the battery back in and can drive off!

My 2010 would kill a battery in 3 or 4 weeks, if sitting, when a year old. My 2013 will go about 6. These things suck juice when they sit. Onstar and Sat radios pinging or something.

That is strange..... like I'v pointed out before, my car sits in a heated garage.... and its underground.

But, the 1st year I had my car, I drove it all year, and not once did it drop past 12v's, and it was outside.

My car sits from November to April each year. Last year was the first slow start but it still fired up first try. The garage isn't heated, but I have started covering my car to keep the dust off of it. This spring I'll likely have to change the battery, but it's not dead yet!

I also store my Camy in a heated garage from Nov-April. But I do start it up once a month & let it run for 10 minutes or so.

Right if you start it up every few weeks then you are good. My car is in a storage unit and won’t be started for a few months. It only takes a few minutes to pull the battery.

The battery in mine was still strong (6/12 date), but Sears was having a sale, so to not take a chance I put a brand new Diehard Gold in it 2 weeks ago.
