I said I would give my thoughts on the bfg comp2 once I got a few miles on them. I put on about 3000 miles on mine in about 2 months and I am EXTREMELY happy with them. To start out they are so much quieter than the gy. They are also not picking up every rock on the road. The daily driving usage is perfect. I also put these on the road for a 700 mile road rally (90%) wv backroads and the difference in grip is certainly negligible between the 2 in real world spirited driving. I even did a some of that in the rain. It is too early in the cold weather season to speak of how they will do there and how they will hold up on tread wear (even though by this time on the good years i was already having to keep check as they were starting to go). So for those of you needing a good all around tire that does not give up too much of an edge, I would highly recommend the bfgs at this point. They are VERY much more adapted for the real world, I want to drive my car instead of staring at it in the garage, people. Add the factor of the price, it is impossible to beat (picked mine up for $165/each). I would have no problem paying more for these. Best part to me right now is the fact that treadware still looks brand new at this point.

I recently installed the BFG Comp2s as well, to avoid the hassle of swapping between summer/winter tires. I now think I made a mistake. The tires seem a bit greasy in the summer, and are at about 90% of the performance of the Goodyears. Now, as the temps get colder, the car seems less planted and slides quite a bit more than when I had Michelin Sport Alpins on. If I had it to do over again, I would've stuck with a Summer/Winter rotation.

I have been unsuccessful in finding info on my situation which is... have a 13 1LE with pfadt springs which lowers the car by approx. 1". I track the car 10-15 days/year and would like to go to a 305/30x20 setup with the stock 1LE wheels. What success and/or problems have been encountered? If the 305's work on the stock wheels on a 1LE that is lowered 1", does anyone have any suggestions re: tires that would work well on the track and street given vehicle is only driven when the temp is above 45? thanks in advance for your comments...

Just looked at Tire Rack for my new rubber. Not needing them right away but looking at tracking more than last year.
I typically run Hankook RS3 Version 2. But they quit selling them. It's a great tire and better than the Goodyear F1s. The F1s had 1 track day with about 11k total miles before they were toast. Now the RS3's have 5 track days and about have 1/2 life on them with about 7K. They are sticky enough to hold a nice late entry hard braking turn and are good with good indication of breaking lose on hard acceleration before losing the rear end. So my question if I cant get the RS3's besides the Pilot Sports what are people running for track and occasional spin in the canyon runs? |

There is a new replacement coming out for the Pilots. Supposedly way better than the current PSS. Most complain about the PSS getting "greasy" on a legitimate track. I can't speak about that as I've only done AutoX and short 1 lap deals in my car.
I'm hoping to get new wheels and run 295's or 305's square for my next set. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Has anyone who tracks their 1LE run the Goodyears with the (92Y) load rating? I know the OEM is the 100 load rating but I'm wondering if the 92's will work on a track without failing? 92 load rating 1389lbs vs. 100 load rating 1764lbs

Not sure if I would step down from the 100Y rating, The cars are heavy and most tracks will load the tires up to max grip before breaking lose. Stepping down would seem that your asking for any type of failure as its recommended to run 100Y.
However if your not tracking and seem to be just saving a few bills then yeah I would consider it |

i know a guy who ran them at TWS on the rear, only because he ordered them by mistake. the couple of $$ difference is not worth the risk in my opinion. HOWEVER, if i made the same mistake...........i'd probably run them on the rear too. that's because i'm cheap/thrifty.

Brand new owner 2017 1SS 1LE, live in SE WI, this car will be a dd 122 miles a day. I am thinking I will need to get 19" wheels and dedicated winter/snow tire. Dealer son has oen says been no problem, second mildest winter in 18 years. Do you think 20" All season would work? Thanks for the thoughts.

I have a 2015 SS with a dealer installed 1LE suspension. I want to install the wider wheels and appropriate size of tires.
Does anyone recommend tires that last longer than the Pirelli? I have had to replace the back tires already with just 18,000 miles. The fronts are wearing down too. |

Has anyone tried the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2's?
