Ever get use to the stares? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I know it happens to all of us. We're just sitting in traffic, doing our thang, and just happen to glance over and find drivers of other cars staring at our Camaros. Coming up on my 1 year anniversary of having my car, that's the one thing I should be use to by now, but I'm not. I tend to take it as a compliment, but I was wondering if any of you guys and gals have gotten use to people staring at our beautiful cars.

It comes with the territory, when you own a awesome car like this it's one of the perks!

I'm actually very used to it now. Sometimes I am sitting there and purposely change the radio station or glance at my phone to lessen the awkwardness if they are staring at me. The tinted windows help though.

My neighbor was having a pool party today and one the guests rolled up in a new Mustang GT. He walked by my garage and said "Damn, nice Camaro". It is nice to be recognized.

I do that as well, but it still feels a tad awkward...lol

I can't tell you the amount of times it's been awkward. It's worse when I drive on campus and traffic is horrendous on Highland. (one of the main roads on campus; it's a two lane road, so traffic will be going in opposite directions) I'll just be minding my own business driving down Highland (I tend to drive with my windows down) and traffic comes to a dead stop and the stares just start.

Try driving with 15 camaros and corvettes heading up to IMS. Lots of stares, hollars, thumbs up. Cool feeling. Have these on video too

I took a road trip up to Flagstaff this weekend to visit my brother. On the way the wife was calling out who was staring and gawking at the Camaro.

She rolled her eyes each time and made fun of my ever expanding ego. But I think she thought it was pretty cool as well.

Driving a Camaro with a big cam and drag wheels and tires tends to end in getting stared at alot. I love it though.
