Weird Thing with Elite Catch Can

Hi all,

I’ve got a 14 ZL1 and am using the Elite Catch Can with just 2 ports.

It’s been on there about 2 years and been catching oil just fine, but now the 2 rubber hoses are moist with oil all along their length, almost as if they are ‘bleeding’ through from the inside. No oil anywhere else...

I’m thinking it’s just crappy hose and I’ll change them out but has anyone else seen this happen ??

Thanks for any insight on this !

Jeff

The Elite Engineering Catch Can is hands down the best Catch Can that I have ever used. Our Elite Engineering Catch Can on our 10 SS never leaked outside or inside the hoses that is very strange I have never heard of anyone having this issue with any of the Elite Engineering Catch Cans sold. The customer service at Elite Engineering is second to none and they will be more than happy to help you out and get you new hoses just call them and let them know the issue you are having. Yes I would just change the hoses and make sure they are nice and snug. 1-877-838-8311

I'm with you as far as Elite being a good product. It's been great for the last 2 years as I said.

It' s just the strangest thing. They are on there well, snug with the stock spring clamps. No leaking at the ends, but along the entire hose...more like sweating than leaking...

Car is stock other than catch can and Roto Fab intake.

Thanks for you're thoughts....I'll get with Elite and see what they think.

The hose we have used is rated for PCV systems and fuel, but there is far more than that caught by our systems. Acids, w\and more. But if the hose is weeping, replace it. You can email us direct at: Sales@EliteEngineeringUSA.com and for all tech support and engineering questions our Engineering Team is at: Tech@EliteEngineeringUSA.com

The can in the picture is the E2, and Apex copied it exactly when they released theirs. So no difference between the 2.

Our E2-X series is the most effective on the market currently.

Cheers!
