Z51 Constraint

Does anyone have any idea when the constraints will be lifted on ordering Z51 packages? How much is this going to delay production?

Latest constraint report shows 0 for Z51 during TPW of 12/2-12/8. This generally affects new orders at pre-3000 status.

GM customer service has indicated 4 to 5 months before the Z51 constraint is lifted. For me, this is hugely disappointing. Especially considering they are taking away allocations for people who won't give up the Z51 option. That is, you just can't sit and wait it out. I understand why (it would basically kill production given everyone would just wait for the constraint to be lifted) but it is very, very poor customer relationship situation. I can guarantee other companies would not have this occur. If I were GM, I would be firing suppliers and cancelling contracts... period.

If this is true, I'm going to get my deposit back and wait for MY15.

What does that mean?

I thought the target for lifting the constraint was 11/24?

Not any longer! As I mentioned above, reports now are 4-5 months.

Wow very disapointed if this is true, so does this means they used all the Z51 resources they had that they thought would last around 6 months?!?! It's sounding more and more like increadibly bad planing on GM's part, they must have 5 year olds running things. As much as I love the new Vette this is very frustrating and may make me rethink my order.

hear is my 2 cents.

get aggressive.... I got sick of waiting called every dealer in a 300 mile zone and found one, only 90 miles... it took 2 days, but they are showing up... what will help is pick 2 colors not one. if you can. I know where there are several at.... I know I am happy w my choice. my z51 has silver wheels so I am prob going to powder coat them w a satin black. give it a little custom look.. Like I said just my 2 cents.

There is a discussion on another Corvette forum where a member posted a screenshot of a conversation with customer service and this is what they wrote.

Well it can be narrowed down to the Z51 suppliers.

Talked to the most informed Corvette super dealer in Houston today. He "believes" the constraint may last from 2-6 weeks for the Z51

2-6 weeks is a far cry from 4-5 months....
