Ray of hope? I would say yes, because it indicates normality. When the C6 first arrived the Z51 option was on limited constraint each time I looked for Chevrolet production updates. I had a Cobalt SS/SC w/ Performance Package (Recaro Seats & Quaife ATB Differential) and the PP was on constraint from when the SS/SC could be ordered in February to May.

My source for production updates, Donlen, still does not have the C7 in its lists.

Stingray Order Constraints 10/3/2013 (Conti's update):
  • Z51 remains on controlled quantities….out of 21 available, I received one..
  • Carbon Fiber Exposed Roof - ZERO AVAILABILITY NATIONALLY
Corvette Stingray Ordering

•October consensus covers production into December
–Convertible (VETCON) consensus/allocation resumes this month
–Est production guide for coupes will be met and (in some cases) exceeded for initial allocation dealers
•Current production shipments underway & all vehicles involved in quality assessment vehicle targeted to be shipped by mid month
•Plant tours scheduled to resume October 14, 2013 – customers can sign up through Chevy.com/Corvette site

Constraint Updates:
•Competition Sport Seats (RPO: AE4) should become available during this month’s ordering cycles
•Visible Carbon Fiber Removal Roof Panel (RPO: C2Z); and the Carbon Fiber Dual Removable Roof Package (RPO: C2M) options are full constraint, with zero availability
–Supplier issues in fulfilling production schedule
–Constraint availability should improve slightly in near term, but this constraint will be in place for the next few months
–Encourage dealers to order Transparent Roof (RPO: CC3) for stock orders
•Z51 Performance Package (Model 1YX*7) severely limited
–Severe limitation should only be in place for the current ordering cycle
–Constraint should improved to between 40% to 55% of production in coming cycles
–Encourage dealers to order standard Stingray (Model 1YY*7) for stock

Yeah, I just got an email from my dealer today. They finally got my allocation and could place the order now, but only without Z51. I told them that wasn't an option to me, so I got bumped back one slot (they only had 3, and I was #2). Hoping I get my Z51 ordered in November.

Same thing here, I was bumped from # 2 to the 3rd spot. But, it will be at invoice. That makes the wait just a little better, not much.

I ordered the 3LT "kiss of death" combo at the end of April:
C2Z exposed carbon fiber top
Z51
Museum delivery

I have been uo and down (me mentally and the production status) 1100, 3000, 3100, 3300 back to 3000 and now at 3300 again, but I keep hanging on.

IT WILL BE WORTH IT!!!

I believe this meant there were/are no available CF roofs for "new orders" that have not been accepted for production yet (e.g. pre-3000 status). The ones w/ CF roof shipped out were able to just sneak by the "0" constraint status in production control... keep in mind, constraints fluctuate +/- on any given day or week.

Yup. I'm at my dealership as I type this and it's confirmed constraints up to Nov. 24th... 0% Z51 availability on orders not yet assigned a production schedule (pre-3000 status from what I was told). Ordering or changing to a Non-Z51 will not hinder the build process.

So does that mean no Z51's will go through for a whole month and a half that are not 3000 or later?!?!? does this mean there's no chance the constraint would be lifted before then or is Nov 24th jsut the date they know for a fact they will be able to lift the constraint?

A very few may pass through depending on Z51 parts supplier. Look at Rick Conti's as an example, he was only able to get one Z51 unit allocated to be produced through the current constraint and he has a long list of Z51 orders awaiting allocations!

No it doesn't mean that it will be lefited for sure but that is their target timeline... it also means there's a slim chance it will be 100% lifted by or before 11/24... keep in mind that last week or so, all Z51's were at 90% constraint meaning only 10% passed through to production. It's all dependent if enough parts & materials the Z51-related suppliers/vendors are able to provide in order to meet demand or at least catch up a bit. Therefore, currently, the laws of economics are in play... unfortunately demand > supply, in significant numbers.
