PAC Dash Kit installed

Was looking for awhile to find a Dash kit, i really like and for me PAC was the way to go. I like the fact im still using the factory HVAC control knobs. The install was pretty straight forward if you follow the instructions it came with. If you do it by yourself its a 2 day job. The soldering from the radio harness to the PAC harness took the longest time, the rest is just plug and play. This kit came with a back up cam, i installed the cam on my front bumper so i can view it thru the radio if i pull into a parking spot forward and i kept my rear cam in the mirror as it came from the factory. I was thinking of using the factory mic and splicing the wire but for now using the mic it came with and run the wire up the head liner and attached it to the mirror mount. Everything works great, the steering wheel controls as well. The chime module it came with sounds a bit different but the sound level can be adjusted, overall not to bad.

I installed this kit in my 45th back in October. I think I made a decent thread about it too.

What did you do about your backup camera?

I kept the factory set up, so the backup cam is still displayed in the mirror. I like it this way, and the front cam is shown on the radio screen

Gotcha. I split my back up camera signal to the radio and the mirror and while I did lose the guidelines on the radio they are still there on the mirror but also the back up camera quality isn’t the greatest when you put it on a bigger screen

I saw some post's regarding low cam quality on bigger screen, plus i was looking for a way to display a front cam. It all worked out great with this set up.

The radio I bought has a backup and and another camera. I could have left it off but I like getting the bigger video.

I do wish I would have got a mechless radio however. The space in the dash is very tight. Congrats on the new radio tho.

Forgot to ask, did you find that the stock sound system has static at mid to higher volumes? I did and changed the amp and it helped tremendously.

To me the stock sound system sounds good, may not have the sensitive ears like some people. If a new amp fixed it for you thats great. The new radio has a lot of option to set up the sound out put this is crazy. I can hear the difference when i make changes

I order that kit and I noticed how cheap those buttons felt and returned it. I ended up ordering the new metro kit. Hopefully it is built better.
