Headers and tune advice.

I have a 2015 m6 with the NPP exhaust. I’m going to have headers (stainless power 1 7/8 with cats) installed. My question is about the tune. Can the sct tuner give my car what it needs with the preloaded tunes or should I take it to a tuner. I won’t be modding any further. I would honestly prefer to just hook the sct to the car and be done with it but if I need to get it tuned then I will.

Yes , provided you know what your doing and the canned tune is a good one for your available octane fuel . Best bet is to find a tuner that has EFI Live and knows what he's doing . He can have you drive and he can datalog while you drive to get you the best safe tune . Based on what the canned tune cost vs what a tuner with EFI Live costs ,I would say if you can get it tuned by a pro with EFI Live for $500.00 or less that would be best in the long run . Post on here and ask whos the best in your area ,and pull the trigger.

Get a pro tune. As in Dyno/Street tune. You can thank me later.

If you plan on doing more mods down the road, cam ect. I would purchase HP tuners. They are 299.00 for the device plus 100.00 in credits which is the same cost as SCT, but alot more parameters can be altered with HP and that's what most professional tuners use.

Yes and no. I believe SCT has "canned" tunes that would likely suffice with your mods, but a custom tune will dial in everything the way it should be and allows you a lot more customization for your car.

We would agree that going with a Custom Tune instead of the OTS Tune would be the best way to go! Most decent tuner's will spend the extra time to make sure there isn't too much power left on the table instead of just making some wonky rear O2 adjustments.

We have some remote tune option's that might be perfect for you. These tunes are loaded using our handheld device the MyCalibrator, which function's similar to the SCT Tuner. The purchase of our device comes with custom tuning that was made on our dyno using a vehicle with part's similar to one's you plan to install.
