2015 Mustang at NYC April 16/17? Ecoboost 5.0 V8 coming for GT500
So I was surfing around and found something interesting.
It says that it will debut on April 16 or 17 at NYC and they are expected to realease a 4 cylinder ecoboost Mustang as well as a 5.0 ecoboost for the GT500 >> Full details: Source (Mustang6g.com) |

The 4 banger and the turbo 5.0 dont surprise me but the ecoboost v6 caught me off guard. It should make for a diverse group of fast stangs with multiple configurations to bad Chevy won't offer a "few" different "cool" engines .

I can't believe that they wouldn't offer a non turbo version of the 5.0. It will be a fail for Ford if they don't.

Hey Motorhead...the article mentions a "normally aspirated Coyote for the Boss 302" but it reads very confusing...

The official reveal of the S550 will likely be 4/17/14 at NYIAS, since it mimics the 4/17/64 debut back then... thus 50th anniversary. Ford is also planning simultaneous reveals at 1 or 2 other venues that day including obviously in Dearborn.
Boss 302 is dead. Limited run. If the Boss name is ressurrected it'll be another variant... 351? 429? We'll see... And the recent twin turbo coyote speculation came from me, which I posted in mustang6g... I was at B-J all week since my Boss302 was part of their heritage showcase and I chatted a bit with one of Ford's race car driver/engineer. We'll see sooner or later if their R&D engineering work will eventually produce one... CGM Stingray looks great but I'd want the coupe... Last edited by Forty5th; 04-08-2013 at 02:17 PM. |

Can the currently modular motor even be bored out to 429 cu in? I know the 5.8 is rightly 351 so that could work N/A as a BOSS 351 motor.
