I admit, it looks awesome as the car rocks like crazy, but I know a converter would be a ton of fun and allow me to take advantage of the power band much better. I couldn't imagine not having a convertor on something bigger than this cam. It is a ton lopier than I thought a stage 1 cam would be, although I know 'stages' are meaningless outside of each vendor. This cam has much higher lift than some other companies numerically higher staged cams, it's just got less duration to keep some streetability. All that said, I did ask Ryan to tune for as much natural lope as possible.

I think GPI's VVT version of this cam is slightly less duration and lift, but not by much. Knowing I am going to get a convertor fairly soon, I really do wish I had gone bigger with the cam.

Cold start, closed loop idle at 1:30
I really appreciate your comments about the need for a converter for anything more than a mild camshaft. I have this conversation daily with folks that want to "get away" with one of our more aggressive grinds and a stock converter. "Yes - it's possible, but no, you really shouldn't" is the line I usually deliver, for exactly the reasons you described.

Once you add some overlap you need more idle speed to keep the thing running, and it just fights the converter like crazy. They also don't stand up off the line as good as they should. The SS1 VVT is really taylored to the "keep my stock converter" crowd, and it's an excellent camshaft that adds a ton of power - I just had a customer pick up 60whp with only change being the cam.

Same. If there is other people trying to order, I’ll cut my car off. But at least 4 out of 10 drive through trips there’s alway a car behind me recording my car. So me being an attention whore, I keep it running as often as I can. Hahaha.

I have been suggested this cam shaft from Summit Racing: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/CCA-189-400-13

But in a article this cam shafts are suggested: https://www.summitracing.com/search/...type/camshafts

Article: https://www.onallcylinders.com/2018/...18FIZlLX3G0SxA

What is the correct cam shaft of these two links? And what is RPM vs SPR for in the cam shafts names?

Update: I also found this kit that seems complete with all parts, perhaps a better choice? But how about daily drive? To ruff? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cca-mk189-301-13
Take a look at some of our builds! We did a recent 2015 L99 with our stage 2c HL cam and accomodating mods and had this customers car making some good numbers! This car got our stage 2 head upgrade with our custom spring kit and cnc porting as well as we ported the stock intake and TB with some upgraded exhaust and these were the results :
