A lot of that is likely condensation. Still a good reference. I get less accumulation in my OSC can, but there's a lot of variables to consider.

Is a can or a/o separator necessary on the dirty side of the pcv? No. But I would recommend it, as long as it's a good product, is maintained by the end user, and oil changes are done regularly

It's cool that Chevy put a decent a/o system on the clean side of the pcv from the factory.

My car rarely gets driven when it is below 60°F (I live in SoCal), it was pretty much all oil with maybe a touch of fuel...

My 2 cents.
I installed a Improved racing can. Took my SS to jiffy lube with my own oil/filter and diff fluid change. Got home and dropped the can and was surprised to see the IR can collected a quarter of oil. So, for the meek it's worth a look. Also, not a warranty issue and my SS is at 3800 miles

I could be wrong but I think you'll still get condensation/water vapor. I live in the PHX AZ area, and my cans always have what looks like oil (the color) but the viscosity is much lower than oil in the sump, which leads me to believe some water is in there (probably fuel, too).
