2014 GT-R Ring Time!
The last few weeks Nissian has been testing the 2014 GT-R at the Ring. Well the first reports out are, Godzilla ran a 7:16!!
At this point the time is still unoffical, but my goodness this is sick. The above time puts the GT-R in a class of it's own. When you factor in it's 2.8 zero to sixty, a 10.xx 1/4 mile, and the fact it's a four seater daily driver, ridding on normal tires Oh and it starts under 100K I grew up loving all cars, but muscle cars and Camaros the most. That being said, Godzilla is the greatest car of my generation (born in 79) by far. It is now my favorite car and cements itself as a Legend in automotive history. Just some food for thought the multi-million dollar Buggati does zero to sixty in 2.7 seconds, it only takes Godzilla another tenth at 2.8 Oh and these performance metrics are repeatable by average drivers. I will post up the links to the runs, as soon as I get to a regular computer. |

Or one of the most amazing new designs in the last 100 years The GT-R is a fesh design, not based on the evolution of a model done decades ago. The GT-R's design brings performance and tech to life in the form of metal and rubber. Any who .... looks are subjective, but most people are impressed by looks of the GT-R. You can mock it's looks just don't race him

I am not a fan of the GT-R's looks...I love the looks of the old Skyline R-32, so it is not an ANTI-Japanese thing...I just have never found the new one attractive...except in it's performance. That is a blistering time.

Damn! I just decided to save for a 2013, guess I'll wait for the '14. At this rate I'll never own one.

I can respect that, to each his own that is fair. My father in-law is a old school muscle car guy. He grew up in late 60s and 70s, and owns a 65 Malibu SS numbers matching. He hates my 5th gen and says the look will never grow on him. The only modern muscle he likes is the Challenger with the classic pkg. I have always believed it takes a car parked in the driveway for a few weeks to truly know if you totally dislike it's looks. |

Don't think that's going to happen. Rumor is the new 991 911 turbo will be a variable Tri turbo monster. Two small turbos for off the line acceleration and the larger turbo taking over up top!

Agree, they are taking their time with the new 911 turbo b/c its going to be a beast! I don't think the GT-R camp will know what hit them once the Turbo 911 is ready. I love the 911, but like the Nissan it's looks are under the radar compared to Ferrari or Lambo. That being said, the Turbo's price is very close to a 458s or entry level lambo unlike the ZR1, GTR or Viper.

That would put it between the Porsche 911 GT2 RS (7:18) and Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition(7:14.64). It is an outstanding performance car but I am not a huge fan of the styling either.

lol at using "ring" times to measure a stock vehicle's performance.

Great performance car for sure, but for ~$120K all in, if you include the $1100 floor mats and $400 jack, I'd rather have a Z06 or a GT500. It's hard to get too lathered up about a car that costs about half my mortgage. It's crazy that the car stickered for $69K a few years ago and now is right at $100K.
