Best bang for the buck?

We got a little taste of what the Shelby can do today, and its quick. We know what the ZL1 can do and its quick too. The new Viper is going to be a beast and the ZR1 is also crazy fast. All that being said what is the best bang for the buck out there? I hate to say it because I am a muscle car guy first, but is it the GT-R?

Best "Bang for your buck" is the base Mustang 5.0. It's the least expensive of the V8's, very quick stock, and takes to mods well.

I've heard with mods they move, but I am talking big boy numbers without killing your warranty. I mean straight up stock off the show room floor meet you at the stoplight or run you at a local road course. I think under 50K its the Boss, and over 50K the GT-R?

If you launch the GTR more than 3 times in like 25 minutes you void the warranty.

It used to be if you "simply" put it in race mode it would void it, but now you can launch it. just not a bunch of times in a row. They require a cool down. They monitor this to in the little black box the car comes with so lying wont help.

that being said the GT in my opinion is a car that can be beat on without repercussion. But I still think the GTR is the BEST bang for the buck..

Anything that runs basically 10's stock and has a 0-60 time in the 2's is a beast.

Anything faster, your just trying to prove things at 2 am on the highway.

In which, AMS has the alpha omega for that

Probably correct. But since you mentioned warranty - the GT-R might throw you for a loop if anything happens. Driving it in a "spirited" manner can void it. I'm serious...Also interesting enough, it's not all "that" from a roll. A GT 500, Z06, and especially a ZR1 can take it. (On the track of course because we don't promote street racing) Ask me how I know...

If you want one of the BADDEST cars on the planet - then get the ZR1. You won't be disappointed.

Does the warranty mess still apply for the 2013 GT-R, or do they finally have it worked out?

uhh no the base 5.0 isn't a hair over 26k. it's listed at 31,290 after a 500 cash back and you only get that if you pay with cash it looks like.

For comparison a new 1SS is listed at 32,280.

Not to mention the mustang site looks like it's trying to lope you into buying a car that will go quickly upside down in... they advertise 473 a month for 72 months (5.9%) after putting 10% down, which imo, is incredibly deceptive.

Depends what you want it for. Different cars are good for different tracks and different races. Are you talking straight up all around performance? Just a straight line? Just a road course? Fun to drive? Comfy interior?

GT-R hands down has this one. You can't beat getting a super car with a tag well under $100k imo.

Best bang for the buck power/class/style although some will argue because it's a BENZ .......... 2004-2006 MERCEDES SL600 V12 HARD TOP CONVERTIBLE
you can buy 04's for 35k (car was 140,000 new)
stock is 500hp 0-60 in 4.1 sec
spend $1500 for a flash and you have a V12 TORQUE monster with 640 HP
and almost 700 pounds of torque

0-60 3.8 sec and 1/4 mile in mid 11's
