Got a major GREEN LIGHT today for my future ZL1 Vert purchase!! So I spent a little time talking to dealers

and even saw a VR ZL1 coupe

. Not going to throw dealers under the bus, but boy there is so much more info on C5 then there is at some dealers. That is just the way it is and has always been. I can remember being a little guy and correcting the salesman on the correct engine size of a 87 IROC Z. Some dealers tried to say there was not going to be a ZL1 Vert! Did you hear that F-Body Father Bro Zek Version 2.0 is just a hologram

. Ok, enough of that, so I put my name on the list at my favorite Chevy dealership. They don't know if they will be getting a Vert or not, which I understand because allocations have not been released. I really hope that they do because this is where I got my very first 97 Camaro! I bought my 2010 SS from another Chevy dealer, but it was originally sold by the dealer who I bought my first Camaro from. On top of that it was sold by the salesman who sold me my first Camaro. Amazingly the salesman who sold me my first Camaro still works there and I hope he can sell me my ZL1! This is a story I plan to tell my grandchildren.

One quick question for those who already have a order number for a 2013 Vert? How in the world did you get it??? All the dealers I talked to had NO idea if they would be getting a allocation for the Vert. Unless I missed something, I did not think the allocations for the Verts were released? Well my name is on the list and I told my salesman it was no rush as I am not sure if its going to be a 2013 Vert or 2014 Vert.

Right now I am leaning towards the 2014 for multiple reasons. 1. I am only 50% percent sure I will have the cash by this August. 2. I am 100% percent sure I will have the cash by next August. 3. I think the 2014 ZL1 could be a very special edition since its the last of the 5th gens? 4. I feel like I was late to the party :(

and missed all the I just got mine fun. So why not hold out for the last one now? You don't know how bad I wanted to come and just wait in the lobby with all you guys

Well for those ordering a Vert, what color combo are you going to get? I am thinking either Rally Yellow with the black top or Night Race Blue with the black top. My 4 year old son has the yellow Avigo Powerwheel so I thought dad and son could have matching Verts

He also has every diecast/model Camaro ever made (one day I will take a pic). As you can tell we are kinda a GM family

p.s. F-bod Father, please tell the guys working on the Chevy SS, to make it totally boring

Why, because I can not afford a Denali, Chevy SS, and ZL1:( . I told my wife I would trade my SS(DD) in on a Cruze, so I could have the ZL1. Although a Chevy SS and a ZL1 sounds good to me..... thats a double Ultra Grin ......... oh no here comes wife..... single Ultra Grin:emoticon7:

You can enter an order and get an order number without the dealer having an allocation

It will just sit at status 1100 or 2030 and not move until the dealership has an allocation - if they don't get one it won't move up the chain

Ahhh, thanks..... so its probably better to wait until the dealer confirms they have the allocation? I know some big dealers were sure they were going to get allocations for the 12 zl1 coupe. This is small dealer so I am not sure they will get a Vert, they only got 1 or 2 allocations for 2012. I hope the 2014 production shoots up and you can order from any dealer.

I'm number one on my dealer's list but no hard order yet as they do not know their allocation if any. I plan to order ashen grey, auto trans, nav, ECF hood, and black wheels.

My SS is Cyber Grey so I had to switch it up. I dream about what my cyber grey would look like with the black ZL1 wheels

. Other than color I am ordering all the same options as you. I am also going to order the suede steering wheel and auto shifter.

I ordered my ZL1 Vert back on 4-19. On 5-14 I got a call from the dealer and they informed me that they were informed that they would only be getting a single allocation for a ZL1 vert, and that allocation will become available for my order sometime between now and the end of the calandar year.

I saw your post in the Ordered a 2013 thread. Your getting yours from Becky and they only got 1 Vert allocation now I am

. I may not have a choice on getting the 13 Vert:( The black Vert sounds sweeet, my 97 Camaro was black so it holds a special place in my heart.
