Engine is mounted incorrectly then - Corvair was a rear mounted engine like a 911.

They spun the engine 180 degrees for the new model like the 911 RSR to get better rear underbody aero from what I've heard...

911 RSR is a mid-engine car, all 911 road cars are rear engine.

Not sure how IMSA permits the RSR team to move the engine (albeit a small amount) to change the layout classification in GT Pro and GTLM and still qualify for homologation, but that is entirely another discussion.

I know the RSR is a mid-engine layout and the rest (road cars and Spec racecars) are rear engined. Tried to make a joke but it wasn't a good one lol

I think it's funny IMSA let them rotate the motor just to gain the diffuser. But I guess when the other teams are OK with the change then IMSA feels obligated to allow it. Kinda like the Ford GT... At least Chevy is waiting till the C8 is on sale to run the C8.R (then there is FIA crash testing and the homologation process. Plus, the WEC super season means they gotta stick with the C7.R until it's over).

Sorry, my fault for missing the joke. Agreed on the 911 RSR. Also, the Multimatic GT, which I'm fairly certain still hasn't met total production homologation requirements, even though the requirement was to be met after their inaugural season.

Lol it doesn't surprise me they didn't meet homologation. When you have to apply to buy a car it won't sell well.

Did you see there's now a GTE-AM Multimatic GT entry for LeMans?

Its not a lack of buyers thats the problem, its the supply. Ford said pretty much from the beginning that they were only going to build 250 per year. But Multimatic, not being used to cranking out a car a day since they're essentially a race shop instead of a manufacturer, barely got half the planned number built in the first year.

the Ben Keating GT is one of the existing Ganassi Cars. He was testing it at Sebring still in the Red White & Blue Ganassi Ford Colors. I assume Ganassi has a New Chassis
