Seat Comfort

Any of you have the optional performance seats, and if so, how comfortable are they for extended trips? I don't plan to track my car but like to be "strapped in." I have the optional Recaro's in my CTS-V and love them.

If the Recaro's are as hard as the seats in a Chevy Cruze, you should be OK cuz the Cruze's seats were comfortable on long road trips.

I spent about 20 minutes sitting in the comp seat that was in the mockup car at Sebring Race before they kicked me out of it. It was just starting to become uncomfortable for me. I will be going with the GT seat in my 2015. The couple of times a year that I will track the car, the GT seats will be just fine. A couple of others that bought the Comp Seats and took long drives, did not care for them on trips.

The C7 design team very clearly state the Competition Seat is NOT intended for day to day driving. That question was raised at the Bash.

It may not be intended for day to day driving but I find them plenty comfortable for daily running around. I have done a couple of four hour road trips in the car as well and did not have any problems or discomfort. This is a pretty subjective thing as each driver will have what they like but I find them to be a very nice seat.

I've only sat in both seats for about a minute or two but I noticed a difference even in that amount of time. The competition seats weren't uncomfortable (in that amount of time at least) but I could definitely tell that the GT seats felt much better.

I think the competition seats look more exotic but they're not worth it if you plan on having the car as a daily driver.

Thanks, guys. Very similar to the Recaro vs. standard seats discussion over on the CTS-V forum. The Recaro seats are firm and supportive, but you have to find that sweet spot because of so many adjustment possibilities. Once I found mine, the driver's seat now soothes my back after sitting in uncomfortable chairs for hours.
