What choice would you make?
I'm curious for opinions on this one, would you rather put 4-10K mods into your 5th gen or upgrade to 6th gen?
Imo, I would trade in my 5th gen for a 6th gen, as I tend to prefer keeping my car stock in the performance department. I'd probably only add the CAI that GM is providing with a tune. A 12.3 1/4 mile car is plenty for me. I prefer the interior and styling of the 6th gen now that I've thought it through. Thoughts? |

Depends. I can equal or outperform a 6th gen for a lot less.

@homelessman
Agree, it really was a big upgrade. I wonder how much is being offered on 5th trade in's. @0331Marine Good choice! @avenging orange That was my point, some people will be content modding the car to match or outperform the six gen, but I still wouldn't be satisfied that way. The styling/interior design/options of the 6th gen make me think one would prefer just upgrading even with the extra cost. |

I went from a 14 SS to a 16 SS. I love both cars for different reasons, but the 16 is a flat out amazing machine! I bet once you test drive one you won't stop thinking about it.

For me:
Modding is cheaper More personal More fun It makes the care more unique, and akin to your personality and driving style. A stock car is a stock car. That's my .02 Also if you're looking into a 6th gen you are likely in a similar price range for the ZL1

I would mod the 5th Gen. Anyone can go to a dealership and buy a 6th Gen, but when you modify your car you make it your own. I plan on keeping my 5th Gen as long as I possibly can.

I still prefer the styling of the 5th gen. I also prefer a modded car reguardless of year to make it my own.

Have driven a 2016, which is what made me stop thinking about them. Already have a lot of mods in mine to make it mine and I still prefer the body style of the 2013 SS over the '16s ... so I'll continue to mod mine for now

I spent 10k on mine this spring already as I was gonna sell it and buy more of an exotic sports car, but then I thought about it and figured I already own it, love the look and style, why not make it stupid fast. And by supercharging it I fell like I have a whole new machine. Money well spent with that and new wheels

For me I would stay with the 5th gen, more room and for me not really a drastic enough change in body style, I do like that they lightened and also put the lt1 in the new car but still for me just not enough to make me want to trade my car in for it
