The "Hump"
I was thinking about the interior of the new Camaro and started wondering about the dreaded "hump" associated with RWD cars. Do you think that the IRS on the new Camaro will help reduce the hump size? My thinking was that with an IRS, it is the wheels that move and not the transfer case unlike in a live axle set-up. Since the transfer case does not move, there will not have to be extra room for the driveshaft to move when the suspension is compressed.
I know the concept still has the back bucket seats, but I was wondering if that is because the concept is build on the CTS chassis and not the Zeta. If they are able to reduce the hump size, they may be able to put a nice full rear seat in the 5th gen. Which begs the question, would you be against a full back seat? I mean traditionally this is not how the Camaro is setup. |

I've never had any issues with the hump in RWD cars.
